Baits
Bloodworm - Fluke (Winter), Kingfish, Porgy, Sea Bass, and Weakfish.
Bunker - Bluefish, Striped bass and Weakfish.
Clam - Blackfish (Tautog), Fluke (Winter), Porgy, Sea Bass, Striped bass and Weakfish.
Crab - Blackfish (Tautog), Sea Bass, and Weakfish.
Eel - Bluefish and Striped bass.
Grass shrimp - White perch.
Smelts - Fluke (Winter) and Snapper blues.
Spearing - Fluke (Winter), Mackeral, Porgy, Snapper blues and Weakfish.
Squid - Flounder (Summer), Striped bass, Mackeral, Porgy, Sea Bass, and Weakfish.
Herring - Blue fish and Striper.
Mackerel - Bluefish, Shark and Striped bass.
Minnows - Flounder, Weakfish, Snapper blues.
Mullet - Blue fish.
Bottom, saltwater fishing; the line must stay on bottom. Bounce tip so you can feel the sinker hitting the bottom. Keep slack on line so you can feel when the fish bites. When the fish has the bait, lift the rod tip, to set the hook, then keep the slack off the line and reel it in. Use a net if the the fish is big. If there is to much slack, the fish could shake the hook.
