It was far superior to a hotel since we like to sit around and talk in comfort. McDonough St. house in Savannah. It was a very nice place, and the city is wonderful. Here are a couple of things to add to your recommendation list for visitors. The show at the Savannah Theater, "Jukebox Journey" was wonderful! It
has been going on for 3 years or so and is well worth the ticket price. The
cast is very talented, and it's a musical review of songs on the jukebox
from the 50's to the 80's or thereabouts. It reminded us of the
kind of entertainment we've seen on cruises. Good dancing and singing,
a great band, and a little comedy. We were able to get tickets
the day of the show. The Savannah Theater is at Chippewa Square,
so an easy walk from "our" house. Savannah Smiles, the piano bar, which you recommended, was a disappointment. It was very loud; the "singers" shouted, and they had done something to the pianos to make them sound tinny. Add to that the crude jokes, and it wasn't very entertaining, especially to us in our 50's and 60's. Maybe the college crowd enjoyed it. Maybe you hadn't been there in awhile. We enjoyed Churchill's Pub and Lady and Sons, both of which got a lot of recommendations from people we talked to. The Southern Hospitality was super. We'd like to return!
