Who can give blood?

Learn more about blood donation and collection.

To donate blood in the Central Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington DC, or Southern Pennsylvania area, you must call
1-800-GIVE LIFE to schedule an appointment. For eligibility information, visit www.my-redcross.org.

Find a blood center near you or a blood drive in your area.

Volunteer! Volunteers are needed to work blood drives. For information on becoming a volunteer with the Blood Services Team, click here.

WHO CAN GIVE BLOOD?
Donors must :

• Be in generally good health;

• Be at least 17 years of age;

• Weigh no less than 110 pounds;

• Have NOT received a tattoo within the past year;

• Have NOT donated whole blood within the past 56 days.

The public is strongly urged to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) today to donate blood or visit www.my-redcross.org for a listing of local blood drives and Donor Centers. All blood types are needed at this time. Businesses and groups interested in organizing blood drives are asked to call 1-800-787-9282, ext. 4680.
