March 31, 2006 the Royal Canadian Mint, together with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, unveiled the world's second coloured circulation coin. The 25-cent coin features the iconic pink ribbon, the symbol of hope and awareness in the effort to create a future without breast cancer.
As part of the unveiling of the coin, 12 Canadian fashion designers generously created and donated one-of-a kind fashion items featuring the new coin.
All items will be auctioned on the Mint's website with the proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Bidding for these items can be done at www.mint.ca until 12:00 pm EST on April 7, 2006.
