The Library has Australia's largest and most diverse collection of information resources and services - over 6 million items including books, maps, pictures, manuscripts and oral histories. Through the internet we provide a range of information including our catalogue, journal indexes, databases and guides, exhibitions, What's on and access to our publications through the online shop

Reader Education are special sessions conducted regularly for new National Library users. These sessions help readers to use the National Library's website and collections, request books from home, as well as effectively search the catalogue and link to online resources in the Library. Family History, Newspapers, Early English and American Books Online, Biography are some of the other resources covered in these sessions during the year.

You will need to register to request items to use in our reading rooms.
