  • Eating problems such as sugar cravings (insulin reduces adrenaline in the blood), hunger pangs, and also loss of appetite on the other hand;
  • Hypervigilance or becoming overly sensitive to all sorts of sounds, sights, touches, tastes and smells;
  • Failure to be able to concentrate on the here-and-now, functional failures (performance anxiety) like clumsiness, erection problems, "blocks" (to writing, public speaking, social skills, learning etc. etc), forgetfulness;
  • Inability to focus on self help others, making good connections with others, attuning or relating to others;
  • Sleep disturbances, trouble getting to sleep, sleeping badly, feeling tired and self help worn out as a result - which makes all of the above even worse;

... and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

When I get into a panic or extreme anxiety, I do one thing, and it works every time. Instead of fleeing from the situation, instead of visualizing another reality, I accept what is. Feel the panic in its fullness. Feel self help the anxiety. Dive right in. Enjoy yourself.

When you become panicky and anxious, you have two choices. One is run away, avoid the situation, avoid the horrid feelings, let the mind win. By doing this, you are helping no one. You will only get worse. By doing this, curing yourself is impossible.

Or, you can go right into self help the feelings. Feel them fully. Know that no matter how bad they are, they are an ILLUSION. They can't hurt you. Feel it fully; feel the anxiety. It can't hurt you, so you may as well dive right in. Look forward to those anxious moments.

Every time you are anxious, you have the opportunity to come face-to-face with the illusion itself. It is self help analogous to a ghost. It may scare you, but it can't hurt you. It can't stay forever, either. It's short lasting and may be interesting to observe. If you learn to accept the anxiety, if you let it come self help whenever it wants, it will disappear. Do not let it control your life.
