The Power of Federated Searching within a Single Interface
Discovery: Finder is Endeavor's solution for federated search across external sources and internal repositories for abstracting, categorization and analysis of retrieved items. Finder is a sophisticated, state-of-the-art searching system that can be used with almost every database, repository or Web page, whether created internally or provided by an external database vendor.

Particularly well suited for enterprise and library portals, Finder enables users to search across multiple resources with a single query, in any language, through one single interface. The custom-built interface accepts a query in plain language and executes categorization and analysis on-the-fly, as the results are returned. It then provides an abstract of each item retrieved, and - subject to the user's preferences - clusters the retrieved items into concepts. Users can customize the system by providing information to their personal profile, as well as creating lists of preferred search topics and corresponding alerts when relevant abstracts are discovered.

Sophisticated Analysis of Search Results
With its advanced patented algorithms, Finder provides an analysis layer enabling several unique capabilities, including advanced search results categorization, clustering, abstracting and summarization, key-wording and alerting. These permit the user to quickly navigate through the results generated by Finder and focus on the most relevant materials.

Results clustering within Finder represents knowledge in a compact and accurate way that is deduced from the text itself, without any manual intervention or pre-defined taxonomies. It analyzes large amounts of data without prior knowledge of the information, performing both automatic and on-the-fly categorization of unstructured data in documents of any size, format, origin or language. This analysis groups search results into clusters of concepts, allowing users to identify the most relevant items and often revealing hidden relationship between concepts.

Intuitive, Customizable User Interface
Like all of Endeavor's products, Finder offers a clear, easy-to-navigate user interface that reflects the company's continuing commitment to supporting the principles of good interface design. Over the course of several years, Endeavor has conducted usability studies with its customers to ensure the best experience possible and to better serve the evolving needs of end users. When patrons are successful using the library's online information resources, they are more likely to return to the institution to satisfy their research needs.

Comprehensive Federated Search
Finder combines federated searching, analysis and alerting with a unique post-search resource that navigates the generated results, allowing users to concentrate on the most relevant topics. It offers the capability of viewing results according to the user's preferences and is customizable for consortia or multi-site usage at research and academic libraries, as well as government and corporate information centers. It also offers a streamlined integration that leverages almost any existing IT system.

By enabling patrons to abstract, categorize and analyze retrieved items in a customized manner, Finder delivers a more productive federated search tool for research and academic libraries.
