Clad in golden glass, this 43-story tower stands on tidal flats under development, 2.5 miles from the Boardwalk. The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa welcomes arrivals in a vast lobby adorned with floral arrangements and dramatic glass sculptures and chandeliers by Dale Chihuly. The adjoining casino is the centerpiece, ringed by the hotel's other public areas. Opened in 2003, the hotel draws many Northeasterners seeking an upscale, Vegas-style experience close to home.

Restaurants run the gamut from buffet service to fine dining, with offerings from Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The Borgata also offers an indoor pool, 30 treatment rooms in a newly-expanded Spa Toccare; and the well-equipped Pump Room (fitness room), complete with TVs on each cardio machine. Use of the pool is complimentary, but there is a surcharge for the fitness center. The Borgata Shops feature European and American fashions in a setting reminiscent of an Italian piazza. Entertainment

Entertainment from cutting edge to classic fills the 2,300-seat Event Center. Recent headliners have included Staind, Weezer, Kelly Clarkson, Paul Anka, and Chicago performing with Earth, Wind and Fire. The Music Box provides a more intimate setting for headliners such as Elvis Costello, Lyle Lovett, The Wallflowers, Andrew Dice Cay, and Dom Irrera, as well as for the Borgata Comedy Club on weeknights.

Specchio - Contemporary, two-tiered restaurant, decorated in warm fall colors. Modern Italian cuisine with a classic twist. Suilan - Traditional, delicate Asian flavors combined with French cuisine. Old Homestead - Second location of the Sherry Brothers' landmark restaurant. Steakhouse menu in contemporary setting. Ombra - Trattoria and wine bar, styled after Old World winemaking estates. Authentic rustic Italian cuisine, over 14,000 bottles of wine, and 50 different types of cheese.
