Katmai National Park and Preserve is located on the Alaska Peninsula, across Cook Inlet from our Kenai location. The Park Headquarters is situated in the village of King Salmon, about 215 air miles southwest of AWA. Brooks Camp, along the Brooks River approximately 30 air miles from the Park Headquarters, is your destination on this intense brown bear viewing trip. Brooks Camp can only be reached via float equipped bush planes or by boat.
