How to order ICRC photos
Loan and purchase conditions, prices and usage rights

Please send your order to:

Do not forget to include:

  • an indication of the intended use of the photographs
  • your postal address
  • your name and the namse of your organization
and please indicate for each photograph:
  • the ICRC reference
    (examples: “ET-E-00053,” “GT-D-00005,” “AF-N-00100-18”)
  • the caption
Do not include a cheque or any other means of payment. An invoice will be sent to you.


1. To order photographs displayed on this site, send us an e-mail entitled “Photo order” with references for the items you require. The photographs will be sent as electronic files unless otherwise requested (prints can also be ordered). Orders of three photographs or less will be sent by e-mail; larger orders will be filled by means of a CD-ROM sent through the post.

2. To request a search for photographs on a particular subject or country during a certain period, send us an e-mail entitled “Photo order” and indicate the period, the subject or country, and the type of photographs you require as specifically as possible.

Prices

As a rough guide, the price for a high-resolution electronic file (300 dpi) is CHF 8 (an additional CHF 5 will be charged for the CD-ROM if needed).

The same price is charged for a standard-sized print (13×18 cm). Prices for other formats will be sent on request.

Searches cost CHF 80 per hour from the second hour onwards.

Usage rights

Photographs are sent for consultation purposes only. If you wish to put them to an alternative use (for example, to reproduce them in a publication), you must make a prior request to the ICRC Photo Library, which will deal with each application individually.
