Hello,      I am looking for a SS Key West spoon showing the overseas railroad.    Thanks
i have a boxed collection of emmanuel de rohan 6 spoons and tongs . silver / dated 1780 /  need to know what they are worth
I have an EPNS jam spoon from Holland which has a windmill, moving arms, on the top of the ornate handle and the spoon, which is larger and flatter than a normal teaspoon has a moulded scene.  There is a dog and four people who appear to be around a table, having a meal perhaps.  Do you know anything about this spoon and whether it is collectible.
An aunt of mine died this summer and has left my sister and I a large number of crested spoons from various parts of the county(UK) and also some from abroad.  Some are in display cases and others are undisplayed, does anyone know of anyone who buys them or anywhere we can dispose of them
My mother not only collects tea spoons but also tea caddy spoons (which are slightly larger).  Does anyone know if or where I would be able to obtain a rack for such spoons?

I have been given approximately 400 souvenir spoons which have been collected around the world over the last 40 years by a lady in our village.  They have not been cleaned for a while and are therefore quite tarnished by they come from quite interesting places.  She has given them to me to sell to raise funds for our village hall.  Can anybody advise me on where best to sell them and what sort of value I should put on them?  Thank you

Nicola

My mom wants to sell her spoon collection that she has been collecting since probably 1935. I'm not sure how to go about helping her. She has approximately 700 beautiful spoons from all over the world. I would really like to see them go to someone that really appreciates them. If anyone has ideas for me to help her please contact me. Thanks so much!!!

I have various spoons for sale from enamel top ones, to various shaped ones.  Advice needed to sell.

Hello-I found at a thrift store, a 2 inch long spoon pin/brooch, it has a scalloped spoon "dish" part and some flowers on the handle, no other decoration, just a tiny spoon. I have found no markings on the back but at the junction of handle and spoon, on the front, is a tiny little "o". I had to use a loupe to see it.

does anyone have any info on this? I am giving it as a gift, and would like to pass on the information. Thank you very much. Leslie Pollard Idaho, USA

Hi,

I bought a set of spoons several years ago at an Estate sale;when I purchased these spoons,I was told that although they have Sheffield stamped on back, that they are "French" spoons and very rare.  I can believe they are rare, because everyone has the same response and that is that they have never seen anything like them and have no idea what they are for.   The lip of the spoons is squared/turned up. I would be happy to send a picture of the spoons to anyone who that might be able to help; just need an email address.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I bought my wife a spoon display cabinet (glass fronted) from Spoon Collectors. She is very happy with this as a display, but has asked me if I will clean them for her. They are mostly silver spoons but I am not sure how to go about it.

Does anyone out there have any advice on cleaning my spoon collection? Ideally a method that is quick and not too fiddly.

Hi,

We will contact our suppliers and see if we can help with this. If we can we will contact you through the forum. If anyone else can help first though, please post here.

I am wondering if you can post pictures of spoons of interest?? that would be helpful....I have some very very old silverware...not sets..like to sell to someone that is collecting old stuff..not big prices..dont know how valuable  any are..but of no value to me sitting in a drawer.

I found a silver spoon -- tablespoon size -- engraved on the back with "1865 H Sears & Son" and the number "9" on it like it's a numbered piece - buried in our yard.

I've checked the Sears history sites and still can't find anything on this spoon.  Anyone have any information?

I have a collection of spoons for sale, from place souvenirs (e.g. Las Vegas, New York, Canada, Bethlehem, Tenerife etc.), to spoons with various 'designs' on them (e.g. ornate arm with bull on top; 1898 1942 World Fair; to a set of 1937 Coronation replica annointing spoons in a commemoration box; Prince Harry's birth commemorative spoon).  Any advice re. selling would be appreciated.

i have close to fifty spoons from all over australia and england that my nan collected for me. i also have two hand made timber and glass spoon display cabinets. i would like sum help in finding how much they are worth, if anything i would love them to go to a good home. sum still in oringal cases most over 20 years old.

I have five glass fronted cabinets containing 132 spoons for sale.

They are souvenir spoons from the UK and around the world.

I wish I had a camera but ... I have a teaspoon sized spoon with a hinged lid.

The long sides of the lid have cut outs to allow liquid (?) to drain.

It was patented in 1892 and is most likely from Maine, USA as that's where my family is from.

Do you know what it is??  It's too old to have been made to squeez out one's tea bag ... it also has the smallest overlapping lip on the lid, but only at the end of the spoon (opposite the handle).  I don't know the correct terms.  Excuse me.

I can't imagine using it to eat, and lemons would not be good for the silver.  What is is??

Hello

Can anyone please tell me where I might obtain a sample of iron tinned spoons made by Samuel Hobday (1745-1816) of Birmingham, England, or his son Edward? Or, any info at all on iron tinned spoons would be of great interest please.

Thank you.

Roger Hobday

Hi. Please let me know what you have, if you can post up a list for me on here I can get my wife to take a look. She loves trying to find rare collections of spoons and you will probably have one in your collection that she will want!
I have a beautiful collection of Michelson Spoon/Fork sets. They are a
Christmas series, one per year starting in 1950 throught 1974. They are
sterling with gold coating and unique enamel handles. They are dated,
and signed/marked by the artist that designed the handle of that year.
They are in perfect condition. I am missing one year in the series- 1955-
but I also have 2 sets for 1972. I would love to sell the collection, and I
have a display table that I would be happy to throw in for free if the entire
collection is purchased.
The sets are appraised at $150-$250 each. I am willing to sell the entire
collection for $3,500 with the table.
please e-mail if you are interested.
