Missing Child Success Story

On March 13, 2006, two girls, ages 9 and 12, ran away from
their maternal grandmother's house where they were staying temporarily.
Local law enforcement authorized the distribution of case information
to local media and requested that NCMEC proceed with creating and distributing
posters of the children. The pictures were aired on Univision. On March
17, 2006, the children were recovered after law-enforcement officials
responded to a tip from someone who had seen them featured on the news
the previous night. The children were recovered in an abandoned trailer
where they had been staying for several days.
