“Swiss Quality Hotels”: Lots of news for the start of the summer season
“Swiss Quality Hotels” has had a successful start to its second year under its new branding. During the first 6 months, the international sales and marketing organisation showed an increase in turnover of 69% compared to the same period in 2004. This success is without doubt a direct result of the innovative and strategic additions implemented in the area of electronic sales channels.
In Switzerland, Swiss Quality has added several new hotels to its numbers, and is also proud to announce its first member in Italy.
“Swiss Quality Hotels” (SQHI, until end 2003 known as TOP International Hotels Switzerland) is maintaining its successful track record. The first six months of 2005 have shown an impressive increase in turnover of 69% compared to the same period in 2004. The 2004 result itself was an increase of 68% on the results achieved in 2003 under the brand of “TOP International Hotels Switzerland”.
This impressive growth in turnover is as a result of, amongst other things, the successful collaboration with various online travel platforms. The latest high-tech development to be used is the XML (Extensible Mark up Language) link between the SQHI Quality online reservations system, and the BOOKINGS online management system. The new XML link enables availability to be kept up to the minute on the BOOKINGS system, and price changes by SQHI member properties to be updated in BOOKINGS within minutes of the change occurring.
BOOKINGS is the European market leader for online hotel reservations and has become an important sales channel for SQHI over the past months. “We are very proud of the fact that SQHI was the first hotel group worldwide to set up an XML link with BOOKINGS,” says the delighted SQHI Managing Director, Eva Fischer.
The above-mentioned XML link will also enable SQHI to set up similar links with other important travel agents. SQHI has already been using an ultra-modern XML connection with selected well-known tour operators since 2004. The XML link was installed for SQHI by the IT company “CE Computer Engineering Ltd” in Kloten.
The number of SQHI member hotels now stands at 72 in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and the new member to the organisation, Italy. Amongst the new hotels are: Seehotel Kastanienbaum****, Kastanienbaum – Lucerne

As a result of this pleasing development, the marketing organisation is also looking forward to a successful second half of 2005.
