What are the valid characters and valid lengths for domain names?
The English-language letters A through Z, and the digits 0 through 9. You may also use hyphens (-). Your domain cannot begin or end in a hyphen and you cannot have two hyphens in a row. Spaces and special characters (such as !, $, &, ë, and so on) are never permitted. The maximum length is 63 characters.
Domain names are NOT case sensitive. You may advertise your name in upper or lower case or a combination of both.
Can I reserve a name?
Unfortunately not. Domains are licenced (registered) to applicants on a "first-come, first- served" basis.

Simply use the search facility at the top of this page. Search results will be displayed and you will have the option to proceed.
Are there any additional charges to add to your published price ?
No. All prices include registration and full management. Domain Registration Services is an accredited Australian Registrar. There are no hidden costs.

Do I have to use my domain name straight away?
No. The choice is yours as to when you choose to establish your web presence.
I want to register a domain but do not require email services or web hosting at the present time, is that ok?
Absolutely. You are under no obligation to purchase email services or web hosting from us.
If I register my domain with you, can I host my website with another web hosting company ?
Yes, you have full control over your domain as it will be registered to you/your business. Our web hosting packages are very competitive but you are free to host with any company you choose.. We do not charge delegation fees. If you choose to host elsewhere we will delegate your domain at no cost.
How many names can I register?
There is no limit to the number of names you may register.
If I am not eligible for a com.au domain name what choices do I have?
There may be another Australian domain space (for example net.au, asn.au, org.au or gov.au) that is more appropriate for your organisation. Otherwise, select a domain name extension that is not subject to allocation policies for example: .com, .net .org., .info, or .biz

Yes. You may use our handy WHOIS domain name search facility.

Can be registered by any organisation or individual anywhere in the world.
.com.au and/or .net.au
To be eligible, registrants must be:
- an Australian registered company; or
- trading under a registered business name in any Australian State or Territory; or
- an Australian partnership or sole trader; or
- a foreign company licensed to trade in Australia; or
- an owner of an Australian Registered Trade Mark; or
- an applicant for an Australian Registered Trade Mark 1 ; or
- an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory; or
- an Australian commercial statutory body.

To be eligible, registrants must be:
- a charity operating in Australia, as defined in the registrant's constitution or other documents of incorporation; or
- a non-profit organisation operating in Australia, as defined in the registrant's constitution or other documents of incorporation.
.asn.au
To be eligible, registrants must be:
- an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory; or
- a political party registered with the Australian Electoral Commission; or
- a trade union or other organisation registered under the Workplace Relations Act 1996; or
- a sporting or special interest club operating in Australia.
.id.au
To be eligible, registrants must be:
- an Australian citizen; or
- an Australian resident.
