The name Skagway means “Home of the North Wind” and is located at the northern end of the Inside Passage on the Lynn Canal in the Southeastern Alaska Panhandle. Its waters are home to some of the largest Salmon to be caught anywhere, and the King Salmon became the state fish in 1962. |

Salmon Fishing Charters
If you’re sport fishing...get ready for an exciting day on the deep waters of the Upper Lynn Canal. We’ll hunt for Dolly Vardens, Pink, Chum, and Silver Salmon. But when you take a Fat Salmon fishing charter, expect to battle the big FAT Kings, the largest of all Pacific salmon species, with weights of individual fish commonly exceeding 30 pounds! Furthermore, Skagway is home to a large population of the rare Ivory King Salmon. It could be your lucky day! |
 |
Fat Salmon Charters will typically go wherever the fish are abundant, but Skagway’s best fishing spots are near the shorelines not too far from the harbor, which means less travel time and more fishing time.
After the excitement, Fat Salmon Charters will clean and package your prize fish right at the dock, or arrange for special processing and shipping to your doorstep. We even provide some fabulous recipes! Check out the F.A.Q. page for more information. |
Expect your pole to be “badly bent” when fighting a FAT Chinook or the notorious Ivory King Salmon. |
