ClickTracks Appetizer is a free web analytics program that includes several of ClickTracks' most popular features--like its overlay view, path view, page analysis and basic visitor labeling.
Understand Visitor Behavior
Easily and immediately understand how visitors interact with your web site.
Through a simple mechanism known as visitor labeling,
you can color-code visitors from a PPC campaign;
visitors who found each page through
a certain keyword; visitors who spent a very long or very short time on
a page; and much more. The software's flexible nature means that you
can select and label visitors who meet criteria important to you.
Visual Interface
See where visitors go, how long they stay and from which page they exit. ClickTracks Appetizer displays visitor data in context with your web site. Because the data is actually superimposed on your web site, you can easily see and understand visitor behavior. No more pesky pie charts or confusing rows of numbers and percentages.
Setting a Goal
Identify visitors who reached a certain page and ClickTracks will determine their search keywords and paths. Interested in knowing which keywords result in the highest number of purchases? ClickTracks Appetizer make it easy to find out. Simply select your checkout page as your goal page and ClickTracks Appetizer will show the keywords that result in purchase and the navigation paths that visitors took to get there.

Comparing visitor behavior is simple through the basic label wizard.
If your site doesn't sell online, you can use the goal page feature to determine the effectiveness of specific calls-to-action. Did your last e-mail marketing campaign get results? What do people who sign up for your newsletter have in common? Set your e-marketing landing page or your newsletter sign-up page as your goal page and ClickTracks will trace visitors' steps through the site.

In the example to the right, Google visitors exited at a higher rate than newsletter readers. This is a good indicator that our landing page is effective to our newsletter readers.
It's About Making Decisions
ClickTracks doesn't throw long lists of data at its users. We know it's more important to compare visitor behavior in order to make decisions. Instead, ClickTracks lets the marketer create unlimited types of visitors, and then compare their behavior in order to make decisions. For example, most other tools give long lists of keywords that brought visitors to the site.
ClickTracks shows the top keywords for each type of visitor (that you define) and lets you compare behavior in light of your online marketing and your web site.
In the example on the right, the keywords used by buyers are not the same keywords for the average visitors. The experienced online marketer knows to optimize for keywords that bring buyers and longer time on site.
Decisions about online marketing are easier when comparing visitor behavior in ClickTracks.
Using average time on page, Appetizer can indicate the effectiveness of a page for different types of visitors. In the example below, we can confirm that our pay-per-click campaigns are performing better than regular search, but not as well as the average visitor. The pattern indicates that it's time to check which natural search keywords are bringing visitors to this page, and then confirm that our page content satisfies the visitor expectation set by the listing.

This pattern suggests that page content doesn't match the expectations implied in a natural search listing.
