Hotel Information:

A large atrium, lit by a nine-storey wall of windows and a glass roof, greets business guests and tourists to the Carlton Hotel, which is entirely smoke-free. Mobiles of metal wings hang from the nine-storey ceiling. Groups of sofas and pots of giant ferns are scattered throughout the lobby level, which also has an upstairs mezzanine lounge and café.

The Carlton Hotel is just 600 metres from the start of Karangahape Road, known for its eclectic range of stores, art galleries, and restaurants. Some 600 metres further along, it intersects with Ponsonby Road. Recreation

Driving directions from Auckland International Airport (AKL): Leave the International Terminal by driving up Ray Emery Drive to the main set of traffic lights, following the signs to Auckland. Turn left onto George Bolt Memorial Drive and follow this for approximately 5 km before merging with Motorway 20A. Follow the motorway over the Mangere Bridge and then take the Queenstown Road exit. Turn right on the bridge over the motorway and proceed on the bridge over the motorway along Pah Road, which becomes Manukau Road. Turn left on Epsom Road. Turn right on Gillies Avenue and follow this to the on-ramp for the Northern Motorway 1. Take the Symonds Street exit. Turn left into Wakefield Street and then left again into Mayoral Drive. The hotel is on the left.
