AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: Tucked into the retail-commercial Northstar Center in the center of downtown Minneapolis's financial district, this 11-story '60s-era property underwent a $15-million renovation in 2001, adding elegance and convenience to a stalwart, business-centric property. New are the street-level lobby and lounge, which have a luxurious and welcoming air. Amenity highlights: The Café Northstar, Krona Lounge, eighth-floor Skygarden, and 24-hour fitness center are on site, while the adjacent Northstar Center offers a full range of retail services. Appropriate for the heart of the business district, the hotel offers top-flight business services and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Insider tip: Everyone's aware of the second-story skyway connections throughout downtown, but not everyone knows about the basement-level tunnel under Second Avenue. Take it from the Crowne Plaza to restaurants across the street.
The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center and the unique Skygarden, a landscaped, open-air, eighth-floor leisure space that offers up-close views of the downtown scene. Business services are notable, including 10,000 square feet of meeting space, catering, and a full-service business center. Adjacent to the hotel is the Northstar Center, with 30 shops and services, including an ATM, shoe repair, gift shops, and fast-food stops. Self parking: $5-15 per 24-hour period. Secured parking garage with in/out privileges. Fee does not include tax and is subject to change without prior notification.
