Taught in the Orvis tradition, our
qualified instructors will help you unravel the mysteries of fly fishing.
The Wilderness Trekker offers several
courses for your convenience. All include the use of Orvis equipment.
Full day classes run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. They include lunch, a
box of flies, and discount coupons good toward any purchases in our
fly shop.
The fishing portions of our schools
will be spent exploring the scenic Little Schuylkill River while implementing
techniques that will help you understand where to find fish and how
to cast to them.
CASTING CLINIC
If you're looking to increase your
casting distance, improve your presentation, or learn advanced line
control, this three hour clinic can make you a better caster.

Our one day course is tailored for
the neophyte angler, taking you through the following fundamentals:

Fly Fishing 101
This informative two day school will
take you through an in-depth study of fly fishing basics. This course
includes:

- Longer Casts / Shooting line

CLASS ON THE RIVER
Here's a great course
for the "Hands On" student. We'll teach you all the fundamentals
in a class room setting and then spend an entire day of continuing education
floating down a river.
Day 1
Fly Fishing Basics Course

River Float Trip
The second day of
this school will be spend floating down either the Lehigh River for
trout or the Susquehanna River for smallmouth bass. Here your fly
fishing education will continue under the helpful directions of our
experienced guides.

WHAT TO BRING
We are happy to supply
you with all the necessary gear, although you are invited to bring your
own. You will need hip boots or waders for every class. If you do not
have these, please let us know. Be sure to bring sun glasses and a hat.
Sun and bug protection is also recommended.
Classes are held rain
or shine so prepare accordingly. Fishing licenses will be required &
can be purchased at our shop.

SCHEDULING A SCHOOL
Our schools are offered
all year.
We recommend that
you register at least 30 days prior to your desired date to insure availability.
A 50% deposit is required to secure your school date. Balance is due
on arrival.
Cancellations or rescheduling
will be accepted no later than two weeks prior to your scheduled date.
Postponed schools due to conditions and all refunds are at the discretion
of The Wilderness Trekker. All deposits will be held & your school
will be rescheduled within one calendar year.
