| ARCTIC CIRCLEThe Arctic Circle is a
very unique imaginary place on the globe. It is at this point, 66.5 degrees North where
the sun never sets on the longest day of the
year, usually June 21st. The same event happens during the winter, only the
opposite, where the sun does not rise, usually Dec. 21st. The further north you
travel from this line in the summer the more daylight you will encounter. For example our
destination next year, Grise Fiord, which sits at approx. 76 degrees north, has 77
consecutive days of daylight and 77 days of darkness in winter.
