Buying property in Turkey is considered a good investment, with
many opportunities to purchase apartments and villas either as a
holiday home or for permenant residence.
Once you have made the difficult decision of which property to
buy the following process of transferring the title deeds into
your name is quite straight forward and, many say, a lot easier
than other European countries.
When payment terms have been agreed and contracts signed a 10%
deposit is normally required to secure the sale. The remaining
balance of funds to be paid can be negotiated depending largely
on the type of property being bought ie. resale, new build or
off plan.
An application needs to be made to the local Land Registry
Office in which the property is situated. After the necessary
searches and checks are completed a permit will be issued and
the title deed can be transferred into the buyers name.
It is advisable to use the professional services of a local
solicitor to act on your behalf during this process.
