Changing Ruler Measurements in Photoshop

Ruler measurements can by changed by choosing Edit, Preferences, Units and Rulers. A much easier and quicker solution is to hold the Control key while right clicking your mouse on the rulers. A pop up box will let you choose the new unit of measurement.

Using the Crop Tool in Photoshop to Increase Canvas Size

Need more canvas space? You can use the Canvas Size dialogue box under the Image menu or try this - Open your image, and press F to go to Full Screen Mode (so that you have a larger workspace). Select the crop tool. Draw a random sized selection box. Grab the handles and drag out into the gray area to the size desired. You can view your precise measurements in the info tab (part of the Navigator palette) as you drag the crop window. Press return. Press F to toggle back to the standard screen mode.

Working With Guides in Photoshop

Hold Alt while dragging to change the direction of the guide (horizontal/vertical), hold Shift to snap it to the tick marks of your ruler, and hold Control to move a guide when using a tool other than the Move tool.
Holding the Control key after you start to drag something (guide, selection, layer, etc.) prevents it from snapping to other objects. Hint: Holding the Control key while cropping also prevents the crop window from snapping to the edge of the image.

Take a Break During a PowerPoint Slide Show

When you want to stop for a break in your presentation without losing your place in the slide show, just press the lowercase B key. This will make the screen go black, and if it is a self-running presentation, it will pause. When you are ready to resume the show, press the lowercase B key again, and you will start right where you left off.

Show Your Slides Out of Order During a Presentation

If you are in the middle of a Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation and want to open a slide out of order, just type the slide number and press ENTER. If you don't know the slide number, there's another method you can use: Right-click the slide, point to Go on the shortcut menu, point to By Title, and then click the slide title you want.
