 We
have been fishing Key West, the Marquesas
Keys and the Dry Tortugas for more than 25 years. Dry Tortugas fishing trips have become popular
among avid fisherman and families who want a different type of Florida
Vacation. Andy Griffiths Charters offers 2-day and 3-day
Fishing Charters from Key West to the Dry Tortugas National Park. We use
the Dry Tortugas islands as our central location but fish a distance
from the Ft. Jefferson area on patch coral reefs and wrecks. Fishing
in the Dry Tortugas yields many species of fish including Mutton
Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Amberjack,
Kingfish, Sharks and Barracudas. On our way to Ft. Jefferson we may
choose to troll baits for a while for Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo
and Tuna.

We also offer a 26 hour trip for
private parties (six anglers or less), 10 am until noon next day.
Spend the best times for fishing on the boat! See sunset, sunrise,
using the boat as your restaurant and hotel. There's nothing like
experiencing it all on a private overnight fishing trip. Fish the
BEST times of the day and night. Dine on your fresh catch. There's
nothing like a breakfast of coffee, bacon, eggs and toast on the
water at sunrise before a day of fishing. Run down beyond the range
of the day boats for more fertile fishing grounds. 26 hour basic
trip is $1800. For a private party of six, that's only $300 each.
That's right, only $300 per person for overnight accommodations,
seafood dinner and breakfast, and 2 days worth of fishing on a private

About the Dry Tortugas
The Dry Tortugas National Park is made up of seven
small islands situated 70 miles west of Key West Florida. The area
is famous for it's pristine coral reefs, wrecks, white sandy beaches,
bird watching, marine life and legends of pirates and sunken treasure.
It is truly an unspoiled destination due to being the
most remote and least visited national park in the USA. Fort Jefferson,
the largest of the 19 th century coastal forts is the centerpiece
of the park. Ponce De Leon discovered these islands in 1513 and named
them “Las Tortugas” (Spanish for Turtles) because of the abundance
of sea turtles and loggerhead turtles that he observed there. While
the turtles provided fresh meat to sustain his crew, there was no
fresh water on the islands so he added “Dry” to the name. It is also
suggested that mariners added the work “dry” to navigation charts
to warn of the lack of fresh water on the islands. The Dry Tortugas
National Park is over 100 square miles of tropical ocean and shallow
reefs.

is that your charter boat is your hotel room. You have the
best seat in the house for a beautiful sunset or sunrise and
there is snorkeling and fishing right outside the cabin door.
Although in the past it may be thought of as a hard core fishing
trip, the fishing charters that are run by our captains are
for the entire family. All of our boats have a variety of amenities
including cold A/C, fresh water (hot and cold) shower, a large
galley, comfortable bunks, rod racks and a shaded area for

Dry Tortugas Fishing

Fishing in the
Dry Tortugas area
is our specialty. We pride ourselves in having some of the most
knowledgeable captains. These captains are professional and
most have spent time fishing commercially in the Key West area.
The Dry Tortugas area offers a special fishing advantage; the
pressure is minimal by recreational fisherman. Therefore there
are larger fish and they are willing to eat and fight hard.
There are only a few select charter boats out of Key West that
are licensed to take trips to the Dry Tortugas National Park. More »
Marquesas Keys Fishing

The Marquesas is approximately
22 miles from Key West Harbor. This
natural atoll is a great place for an overnight fishing trip and
offers both deep sea fishing on patch coral reefs and wrecks. Being
that the Marquesas Keys are West of Key West, it offers
a range of
fishing further to the West to an area that cannot be reached by
a Key West charter boat that only goes for a one day excursion.
