A great tool for parents and parent groups
Here's a sample of the workbook:
WORKBOOK SAMPLE:
TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES?
WHAT ARE CONSEQUENCES?
Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary
defines consequences as "a conclusion derived through
logic: inference." Within the realm of parenting,
it is essential that clear consequences are communicated
within the home. Good and bad behavior should elicit
specific, known consequences. When consequences
are clear, ambivalence and confusion disappear.
EXAMPLE IN THE HOME:
ASK yourself: "Have I communicated
to the children what the consequences of their good
and bad behavior will be?" Have my spouse and I
first decided what is acceptable and unacceptable
behavior? If we have not, we need to confer and
communicate this first.
HOW IS IT IN YOUR HOME? WHAT will
I do to ensure the children know the consequences
of good and bad behavior?
- What is good and bad in our home?
- How do I communicate the consequences for the
children's behavior?
- Have I explained what is good and bad in our
house?
ON A SCALE OF 1-10, HOW AM I DOING
IN MY HOME? ________________
DO I NEED TO IMPROVE? _________________
BIBLICAL SUPPORT:
Galations 6:7-9 "Do not be deceived;
God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption
from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you
will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So let us
not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will
reap at harvest time, if we do not give up."
