Start Shopping

The following shopping guide is mainly intended for first time users. To buy items from cd-companion.co.za, you need to register first. Click here to register if you are not yet a registered customer. Once you’ve registered you can start your shopping by first logging in using your created username and password.

How to search for items

Our site cd-companion.co.za has two simple to use search engines. You can search an item by genres (CD/DVD genres) or by using quick search (All of CD/All of DVD) search engine.

When searching by genres, you simple click on the CD/DVD genre you intend to search on the right of every page. You then select the first letter of the alphabet of an artist you are searching for (e.g. if you search for Whitney Houston, you click on the letter “W” – artist/actors are listed by their first names).

When searching by using quick search, you simple type any number of words about the Artist/Actor or CD/DVD name that you’re looking for. The search engine will display all items that match all of the words. The quick search is located at the top of the menu on the left.

How to buy items

After you’ve allocated the item that you want to purchase, click the item title to bring up its detail page. The detail page will show all the information about the item. If an item is available, an “Add to Cart” button will be active. If an item is not available an “Order Me” button will be active, meaning that you can order an item but it will take 6-8 weeks to receive it.

If you press the “Add to Cart” button the item will be added into a Shopping Cart. The Shopping Cart is available under the My Menu section on the left if you are logged in. As you add more items, your Shopping Cart will change reflecting what is added and the new total amount. If you are buying more than one CD/DVD of the same item or you want to delete an item, you can change the number under quantity (set to 0/zero to delete) and press the “Submit Changes” button. A new total amount will be reflected based on the number of items purchased. If you intend buying more items, you press “Continue Shopping” and it redirects back to the home page. If you wish to cancel an order, press “Cancel Order” and it will remove all the items added into your Shopping Cart.

Checkout

Once you are satisfied with your shopping, press “Checkout” button to proceed to the Place Order page. On the Place Order page an order total amount that includes shipping amount will be reflected. Two options of payment are reflected. For credit card payment, you press; “Go To Secure Payment Server” button and you’ll be redirected to Setcom.com server. For bank deposit and electronic transfer, you press, “Pay Directly Into Our Bank Account” button and cd-companion banking details will be reflected.

Note that cd-companion.co.za does not keep any information for credit card payment. It is recommended that you first register with Setcom.com, which is a well known, established secured credit card processing institution. Click here to register with Setcom.com.

Delivery

All in-stock items are usually ship within 24 to 48 hours of submission your order and this exclude weekend and holidays. Bank deposit and electronic transfers ordered items would be ship once the payment reflects on the account or once a proof of payment has been received either by fax or email.

We currently use SA Post Office to deliver to any valid postal or street address in South Africa or abroad.
