August 31, 2006
San Antonio, Texas
A 2-year-old boy was left in the care of a homeless woman by his mother. When the mother could not find the woman or her child, an AMBER Alert was issued. A lead from the AMBER Alert directed authorities to the suspect and child. The suspect was arrested and the child was safely recovered.

August 1, 2006
Rochester, Michigan
Three young siblings were abducted by their father when he believed they were to be taken away by social services. An AMBER Alert was issued in Michigan and Illinois, as he was believed to be heading south. When the suspect entered Illinois and saw that an AMBER Alert had been activated, he quickly returned to Michigan and turned himself in. The suspect was apprehended and the children were safely recovered.

July 22, 2006
Cincinnati, Ohio
A 6-month-old boy was in the back seat of his father’s car when he was car-jacked at gunpoint. The suspects fled with the vehicle and the child still inside. An AMBER Alert was quickly activated. The child was left in a stroller on the front porch of a woman who was aware of the AMBER Alert. She notified authorities, and the child was safely recovered.

June 17, 2006
Dearborn County, Ohio
An 8-year-old boy and his 1-year-old brother were abducted from their babysitter’s home by their non-custodial father. Because there is a domestic relations protection order against the man, an AMBER Alert was issued. He heard the Alert and turned himself and the children in to authorities.

May 31, 2006
Howard City, Michigan
A 3-year-old girl was abducted by her non-custodial father after his parental rights were terminated. An AMBER Alert was issued. The man drove to a mental health facility to turn himself in after hearing the AMBER Alert. The child was safely recovered.

May 13, 2006
Stockton, California
A 16-year-old girl was abducted at knife point during a home invasion robbery. An AMBER Alert was quickly activated. When the suspects saw their own vehicle description on a changeable message sign, they called 911. The suspects were then tracked and apprehended. The child was safely recovered.

April 10, 2006
San Bernardino, California
After a man shot his girlfriend, he drove her to a hospital, left her out front, and fled with his 17-month-old son and the woman’s 3-year-old daughter. An AMBER Alert was quickly issued. When the suspect heard the AMBER Alert, he dropped the children off with relatives, who quickly notified authorities. The children were safely recovered.
