This well developed 70 acre coarse lake and is between 10 to 20 meters deep at a casting range of 20 to 30 meters. The fishery is located 5 kms from Tulla and is regarded as one of the most important lakes in the area. Species  are Tench, Roach, Bream, Rudd and Hybrids Catches ranging from 40lbs to 70lbs per day are common and if swims are pre-baited and fished early in the morning bags of over 100lbs are possible. The concrete stands on the far end of the lake are excellent for Tench particularly if fished early morning at the end of May or early June. Over recent years a number of specimen awards were verified by the Irish Specimen Fish Committee.  This is also a very good roach fishery and well worth a visit. For the Pike angler you can get quite good fishing here.

Facilities and Access

There is a car park located 30 m from the lakeshore which will accommodate 9 to 10 cars. To the right of the car park there are 7 timber stands and to the left 8 concrete stands. There is one stand which is suitable for a disabled angler. Anglers are requested to park cars in the designated car park provided, please avoid parking on the land owners private property.

There are approximately 20 to 25 well developed swims most of which can be fished from the timber stands.  The depth off the stands varies but tends to be 3 or 4 meters a rod length out.  Bream here reach 3 to 4 lbs the biggest bags are taken on the feeder using plenty of casters in the mix. The pole can be used to target the large population of roach which can be had nearer the stands. Tench also turn up to sweetcorn bait just a short distance out from the stands near the reed beds.

Recommended baits would be Worm, Red Maggot, Red Sweetcorn, Plain Corn Caster and groundbait of choice which should include some red colourings and brasem.

To get there

The lake is located on the main Tulla to Broadford road. It is well signposted and approximately 2 kms from the main road.
