The Decider

Danny Green has today announced that his next opponent will be fellow Australian, "The Nailer", Jason Delisle. The score is one all after The Green Machine won their professional bout in June 2003 which lead to his first world title bout against Germany's Markus Beyer. Delisle however won their amateur bout in controversial circumstances which lead to Delisle scoring a place in the national squad.

The Decider - Danny Green v Jason Delisle

The bout will be held at Challenge Stadium on Wednesday September 20. Tickets are expected to go on sale through Ticketmaster on Monday 14 August and will range from $55 to $220.

The bout will be at light heavy weight and will be for the IBF Pan Pacific regional title which will ensure the winner is ranked in the top 15 at light heavyweight. Green is hell-bent on destruction after his extremely disappointing loss to Anthony Mundine in Sydney in May. Green's US agent Don Majeski is currently negotiating with the light heavy weight champions to bring them out here as one of their voluntary defences. There is also the possibility of a rematch with The Man- in Perth mid next year maybe?!

Danny dropped to 21 wins (19 Ko's) and 3 losses after the Mundine bout. Delisle is 18 wins (9 KO's), 5 losses and 2 draws and is coming off a loss in his world title clash wish IBF Light Heavyweight champion Clinton Woods.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion- but be there on September to hear Green silence his mounting critics!

Letter From Danny

Hello everyone !

As you are aware, I have signed on to fight Jason Delisle on the 20th of September at my old stomping groung, Challenge Stadium.

Jason beat me as an amatuer, then I beat him as a professional 3 years ago in Sydney. This time we are fighting at his preferred weight, lightheavyweight, which I am comfortable with. Jason thinks this is an advantage to him, and I know he is very hungry for revenge!!!

However he is coming to my backyard this time, and I am very excited about this fight. It has a lot of feeling, and we are still 5 weeks out.

Training is progressing well, and I have started my rigorous strength and conditioning training with Hayden Knowles and Craig Catterick from Competetive Edge Australia. The boys know exactly which buttons to press in concern to getting me in peak shape. I have also started sparring, and am currently working with Dave Birchell. Salas comes to join us on the 22nd. My chiropractor in Perth, Noel Patterson has me all clicked into gear, as well as my physio Jeremy Hunter.

I am really pumped for this fight, and Jason is coming with a point to prove. Its billed as "The Decider", and i am pretty confident of fireworks. We have a good relationship outside the ring, with enormous mutual respect shown, but as soon as that bell rings, IT IS ON!!! I will keep you posted on my progress. Thankyou to all of the unbelievable support you have shown me, it has truly been overwhelming, and I look forward to repaying your loyalty on the 20th!

Kind regards,
Danny.
