The Directorate of Airspace Policy (DAP) is responsible for the planning and regulation of all UK airspace including the navigation and communications infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations. DAP is staffed by civilian and military experts with experience of commercial, business, recreational and military aviation. The needs of all users are accommodated, as far as possible, with regard for safety as well as environmental, economic and national security considerations.

DAP also contains the Environmental Research & Consultancy Department (ERCD), previously known as Department of Operational Research and Analysis (Environmental Studies). ERCD is dedicated to providing a range of services within the field of aviation and the environment.
As part of our on-going drive to improve our performance, and as an ISO-certified body, we believe it is imperative to listen to our stakeholders and identify where we could do better. We therefore carry out a survey every three years, and are this year publishing the outcome and our proposed actions in the Stakeholder Survey 2004 Findings Report.
