Anonymous said on 12/03/2006: the food wasn't cooked properly Anonymous said on 01/10/2005: I am certain some of the comments below are not related to the 180 restaurant. When we visited it was run by an English lady and I presume it was her husband/partner doing the cooking. She was the only waitress although on one occasion a young boy served the wine. It is well worth a visit. D&M; said on 01/10/2005: We ate here on three occasions and each time it was excellent. Look forward to returning again next year. jan with "party of six" sept 05 said on 28/09/2005: ate here a few times. very nice!!!! hope molly is over her op! ruth & Jon said on 28/08/2005: due to reading review on this site we went looking for 180. And I must say that it was the worst & most expensive meal that we had in Dalyan. It could be that our choice of food was not good but as it was recommended by the waiter as his mamas speciality we thought it would be delicious. It was also by far the most expensive place we went to so be warned mama cannot cook. x X x XCATheriNE x X x X said on 27/08/2005: its the bets restaurant in dalyan...uzay n his bro (he gave me a pic ovv him) r tha best...n tha man wiv tha curly hair..me and lucy will seee tham all next year! Although the food was good and the staff friendly, with our evening meal, we did not get our wine which was above average price, with the main meal and had to re-order it. It also was served with no ice bucket. Disappointingly the service was not that good. Harvey , Sheenagh, Jamie and Adam said on 04/09/2005: A great time again at the Villas and Restaurant. Jon Gwynn said on 01/08/2006: we are a family of five and have just returned from a week in dalyan. we ate at this restaurant on two evenings and would have possibly eaten here even more had it not been for finding equally excellent fare and service in other restaurants. if you want to sample great turkish hospitality where locals themselves were eating then this is the place to try. you choose the food from a refrigerated display cabinet where the owner will happily advise you about the options available. it was a great service at a really good price. However, on the last - our last day in Dalyan, the service was very slow and we waited ages even for a drink. My Wife had a shrimp casserole which had a lot of cheese on it making it too rich. helen and robert said on 01/10/2005: best place to eat, well looked after, we go back there year after year. jan said on 28/09/2005: fantastic! roy takes pride in his cuisine and his restaurant. made to feel that we were old friends instead of customers. celebration chicken was brill!!! told you roy that i would give you a good write up! Peter Savage said on 22/08/2006: This restaurant provides excellent service, good value for money and great food. The ownwer is one of the nicest people I meet whilst in Dalyan. Nothing was to much trouble! Pete Clouding said on 12/08/2006: Hey, this used to be one of the best restaurants in Dalyan - but it's been taken over by somebody new and now it's just awful. The really miserable staff wouldn't even tell me where the old owner the lovely Eser went. But I found out! He's at Saffron on the riverside, which is truly wonderful. Jan Silvester said on 11/05/2006: Coming back again in June 2006 will eat here again. Excellent food, lovely people
Jan John Lea and James Patricia Ctreasey said on 06/03/2006: It was the first restaurant we ate in, in dalyan when we first visited there over 10 years ago. We have been coming back every year since then, and the food is consistently good. Russ Albert said on 04/10/2005: The best restaurant in Dalyan. We had something different most nights and everything was superb. Fish and seafood deliveried fresh every day ( we were usually there for coffee at 10.30am when they arrived) We tried several other (more expensive) restaurants in Dalyan but none were any where near as good as this. My favorites were the bream and the Crab Pasty ( more like a rolled pancake) but the moussakka, pizza, salads were also delicious. no pushy waiters or chat up lines but FANTASTIC food and service angie cockerham said on 26/09/2005: WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO DALYAN FOR TWO YEARS NOW,THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF DALYANS TOP SECRETS,SIMPLY FURNISHED,NO HARD SELL TO EAT THERE FANTASTIC FOOD AT GOOD HONEST PRICES, WE WOULD NOT EAT ANYWHERE ELSE , AND WE HAVE SAMPLES OTHERS BUT NONE MATCH THE GOLDEN CRAB FOR SERVICE,CLEANLINESS AND THE BEST FRIENDS YOU COULD MAKE. K.B said on 25/09/2005: Have been to Dalyan over the last few years but never tried this place. Will certainly have a look out on way to Dalyan and try in my 2 weeks holiday. Dave and Madeline said on 21/09/2005: After reading the review we took the trouble to find the Gunluk restaurant and picnic area. It is just outside Dalyan on the Ortaca Road and it took us about 40 minutes to walk there. The food was indeed excellent as well as cheap and the numerous turkish people arriving in cars must have thought so too. We asked for transport to take us back and it cost approx 5TL but well worth it. Jane said on 25/07/2005: Yvonne - where do you get the telephone number from to make contact? Sounds great! Proper food at proper prices... we visit Dalyan twice a year and would welcome somewhere authentic to eat.. Yvonne said on 13/07/2005: Found this place last few days of holiday last year, where the locals eat!Ring them, they pick you up, take you back, sit amongst the trees and enjoy the best food for the least amount of money I thought possible. No menu, pick your own fish from a huge display, or pick your meat, tell them how you want it and they will do it. Bread, salads just kept on coming, cheapest wine in dalyan, practicaly same as supermarket! Going back in September and will make it our first visit.

As Little mem to do caed tricks with the kids they sit there in amazement for hours we will be back great turkish menu Mopezone said on 17/08/2006: Good restaurant, with complimentary fresh baked pitta and herbs to start, plus melon and banana with honey to finish. The meat and fish are nicely cooked, although meat portions can be a little stingy! Service is courteous and friendly, and they introduced us to the Turkish practice of using pomegranate syrup instead of vinegar on salad! (try it - it's called Nar Eksili!) The down side is the mossies - we ended up like pin cushions both times we ate there, so spray thoroughly beforehand! Recommended overall. steve said on 24/06/2006: Good news. The prices have been reduced to more typical turkish prices and now this restaurant has to be considered as one of the best of this type of restaurant in the area. I have noticed that it is getting popular with the locals, Turkish and Foreign as the place to go for a good night out. Excellent Turkish cuisine. rosemary dulwich said on 03/02/2006: Lovely restaurant with great food and friendly staff Georgina Massey said on 09/11/2005: Still my absolute favourite restaurant in Dalyan- fantastic and friendly staff with excellent food. Julian & Lucie said on 20/08/2005: Went during our first week for a quiet meal when a Turkish tv company turned up with models (very famous apparently!) to film. The waiters obviously did not totally have their minds on their work and unfortunatly we were given the wrong order! However, we gave them another chance and went back the following week and the food and service was excellent! Not bad value either but you get what you pay for and the service etc. was first class susan & phil said on 11/08/2005: Ate and drank there numerous times in the 2wk hol, menu told us how much each meal and price of beverages were, drank a bottle of wine nearly each time, paid 20 lira, 8pounds!!Will definately recommend. this year, once again food & service fantastic . price reflected the 5* quality we received. A superb restaurant in our opinion Les Shawcroft said on 02/07/2005: Was really looking forward to eating here as it was so highly rated on this web site but found it a huge disappointment, will not be going back next year Chris & Sue said on 23/06/2005: We put this place on the ratings map last year as we had such a great time there. Food is still great and the sevice second to none. They lose out to the Melodi this year for us due to the very high prices charged, especially for wine. We think 30 Lira a bottle for average house wine to be well over the top and with an average bill of 114 YTL we could only afford to eat there a few times. A shame as they are lovely people.

Anyone who has spent any amount of time there can verify that. I dont need to give names, please dont turn this into a matter of ego, the facts are the facts. kk said on 30/09/2006: if L&T; bar is anything to go on, then dont really want too many English taking over. Bingo, karaoke and so on and stay put in England and Spain jt said on 29/09/2006: esme you did not answer the question what bars resturants etc are owned by english? i can tell you exactly none esme said on 29/09/2006: see how well they have intergrated you didnt even realise.
and not just bars but other businesses as well. There are many, please take a look, not just english other countries as well, but mostly english. jt said on 28/09/2006: esme who are thay? and what english owned bars ?are you talking about? be back next year to find these owners and speak to them esme said on 27/09/2006: jt, sorry, i dont agree with you, take a walk up to the other end of dalyan, where the rock bar used to be, and you will see that there are many, turkish\foriegn run buissneses, all succsesful and all which have been around for more then 3 years, many for much longer.
So why dont they have trouble? Mostly becuase they live here as turks, they have accepted the culture, and have more turkish friends then british.
Plus they are respected within the community, becuase they have respected the comunity. jt said on 26/09/2006: a reply when i say a free market econmy i dont mean mcdonalds i mean a place where people can holiday or live or start a business on the same terms as turks there have been many attemps by the english to open some kind enteprise only to come up aganist some local red tape spured on by jelous rivals result no sole owned english business in dalyan even english woman with turkish boyfriends /husbands have nothing but back stabbing from rivals there is no level playingfield in dalyan i will still holiday in dalyan nothing would put me off but i now would never consider living there...... esme said on 25/09/2006: debbie, how come its ok for people to call turks all kinds of things on this web site, but not ok for me to pass comment. I cant belive you found my comments so insulting that you want them removed, take a look at some of the other resturant reviews for example alis returant. Its appaling, one girl even is kind of admitting she was raped by one of the waiters but later says she enjoyed it. Come on debbie, surley thats more offensive then what iam saying. Or is that what dalyan tourisim has come to, a mass orgy with english breakfast thrown in for good measure!! esme said on 25/09/2006: a note for jt. I dont know if you have been to dalyan recently, but the tourists are staying away, and many people who have been coming here for years say this will be their last...why? because they say the charm of dalyan is being lost. Free market? people dont come here for mc donalds, or maybe the new crowd do!!
outsiders are not crushed by the dalyan cartel, there isnt one. Most people having buisnesses here, are not born in dalyan, they come from all over. The only difference is they pay tax! How do you feel about people without working permits in the uk. jt said on 25/09/2006: must have been a great place as your all still talking about it a year after the owners got shafted it was hardly blackpool just good food and service and a bright clean place to eat at and copied by others . The tourists and english will stay away if they are not allowed a free market economy as i see it dalyan is a cartel town where any outsiders are crushed by foul or fair means just look how many english involved buissness have been slapped down this year ricks and many more i will still come to dalyan for my holidays but i fear many wont .. Debbi said on 22/09/2006: Whilst I agree Dalyan is virtually unique at the moment and most of us want it to stay that way, what I am saying is Esme's nasty comments on this subject are very personally directed at people who are just trying to give their opinion to assist other holidaymakers make their choice. I have never been to this bar and doubt I ever will but her generic assumptions about the people who enjoy this bar are highly offensive. Charlotte said on 17/09/2006: This may be unfair as I have never eaten in Lizzy's, but as a brit who has been coming to Dalyan for 6 years, I have to say places like this depress me. I chose Dalyan because it has it's own vibe and was mercifully free of "English Bars/restaurants". I from reading previous comments I with Esme on this one. Anonymous said on 17/09/2006: like to add my support to esme. I also have a fear of Dalyan becoming like marmaris. It is a village and we should keep it this way. Marmaris is only an hour away if you want that type of thing. Impressed with your English Esme, unlike the english people that have to resort to swearing (I am english but often embarrassed by english behaviour) esme said on 15/09/2006: i am not rasist
just an obsever of cultures. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and this is mine, i am rating what i think about lizzys place, but i am also rating what i think places like this do to a traditional village....they turn it in to marmaris..... by the way i am sure my english is far better then your turkish and i have never even been there!!!! I dont have a problem with english people, mostly they are lovely soft people, i am talking about the small minority who want every where to resemble england. Debbie said on 13/09/2006: Here, here!! Just what claim has Esme on Dalyan, I would like to know? This is supposed to be a genuine site where people can view their opinions to help other holidaymakers. I would ask that the Administrator removes Esme's insulting and narrow minded comments. Dalyan and Turkey need tourists - not people like this. I, for one, will seriously consider turning off from the forum if her comments remain. erin said on 12/09/2006: esme what a first class arsehole you sound learn fucking english before you try and wind up the english that support dalyan and turkey its narrow minded racist bigots like you that give turkey a bad name...prick esme said on 07/08/2006: maybe the reason you had a bad experience of turkey and turkish people is becuase you hang out with people like the english ex owners of lizzys bar, and other such english cretins who only see turkey as a place to turn a lobster red whilst drinking cheap beer and eating english food. Thank god for global warming you will all be able to stay at home to fry in a few years time and we will no longer be polluted by your english breakfasts and british bull dog small mindedness.
By the way if you met bad turkish people i would take it as a reflection of yourself.

I have read the reviews that this placed saved you guys. Saved you from what? experiencing something new. Bravo you managed to find somewhere to eat english food.
Why dont you stay in england next time or go to spain, you all ready f##ked it out there.
The owners had no idea about Turkey or life out here, they didnt respect or like turkish people and they even had a letter on the back of their menu telling customers not to trust turks and that all they ever do is rip you off. Well some do, but many dont, same with any country. The only people who were ripping you off was the lizzys crew, by taking away your chance of having a real turkish experience. cleopat said on 12/03/2006: best of the best!!!! tina garry n family said on 12/03/2006: Great all the time we have been there!!! xxx Anonymous said on 02/01/2006: im sorry, but when i go to dalyan im not wanting "real " english food.their traditional foods are lovely.stay at home if thats what you look for in a holiday ; ) Anonymous said on 29/12/2005: visited this resteraunt twice, first time i was not to keen on the owners, however when i actually spoke to the lady was very friendly. I love all their mezes and the spicy meatballs are delicious. 10 out of 10. Hope to see you agin soon. Mopezone said on 17/08/2006: Totally agree - has to be the best restaurant in Dalyan and has only improved since relocating from last year's site just off the market square to the riverside. Probably better for the mezze and vegetable specialities than meat, but you'd be mean to grumble about anything here. Run by a delightfully friendly family who are the epitome of Turkish hospitality and light years away from some of the pushy waiters elsewhere. If you want to experience the real Turkey you have to go here - one point though - no menu, so you have to select your meal by sight and be prepared to ask the price if necessary! Anonymous said on 25/07/2006: If you're fed up of waiters badgering you to come in and special menus aimed at tourists, you'll love Saki - authentic Turkish food in a friendly family-run restaurant. The mezze is outstanding - don't go without trying the courgette fritters and stuffed tomatoes. The fact the place is frequented by locals and far cheaper than all the other restaurants, while providing the best food, says it all. We ended up eating there every night - it's the best eaterie in Dalyan. Anonymous said on 18/07/2006: Saki is now by the river - by the rowing boat crossing. We found it to be the most authentic, well priced turkish restaurant in town. Service was excellent and when a power cut hit as we finished our meal they kindly ordered a taxi and made sure we negotiated the steps to it. Miss Saki during your stay in Dalyan at your peril. d & v said on 23/06/2006: Believe me, I do not have a "downer" on Saki's - I have reported my experiences as they were on the night and hope that they are noted by the owners. We went on recommendation from friends whose opinions are similar to yours (and still are) and are surprised how we found it. In nearly 40 years of foreign travel we have never ever left a restaurant & have rarely made a major complaint. Then again, never been ignored for so long. We hope Saki's prosper. They say the food is great-we never found out. Dress code for waiters? -we just prefer a bit more smartness.Enjoy! Anonymous said on 14/06/2006: my experience of saki is totally different from the previous review. The food has always been excellent, as has the service. Perhaps they are a little short staffed because their daughter is not yet back from university? We have always found Suleman to be charming. The fact that he wears casual clothes is fine. This is a lovely informal family run restaurant, which is also spotlessly clean. The comments about white shirts and scruffy trainers lead me to doubt about the reliability of the other comments. D & V said on 05/06/2006: Went on recommendation - must have been an off day! Got drinks within 10 mins of arriving, placed order from the cabinet - I ordered a
starter and main course, my wife just a main course (Due to the limited & unappetising choice).Twenty mins later our drinks and the starter were finished and the dirty plates and empty glasses sat on the table & no waiter came near us. After total of 65 mins I asked when we could expect our meals - answer "Soon!". When I pointed out that no bread had been brought to our table I was told "Maybe I forgot". I was told that I should have called the waiter for more drinks and to have the dirty plate cleared as "How do I know that you have finished?" - what, after over 30 mins!! I was then told "We DO have other customers to serve!" - the place was not full. I suggested that he had better concentrate on them in that case - several others were also looking impatient by now. I offered to pay for the drinks and starter, was told no charge - so we left, the first time we have ever walked out of a restaurant anywhere. Some tips for Saki - please remember that it is YOUR job to serve and attend to your customers - it is not theirs to have to chase you and it is YOUR job to clear dirty plates, keep glasses filled and to put bread on the table. I suggest that you look like waiters --t-shirts,jeans & trainers are scruffy. Take a look at your competiton, most wear white shirts & dark trousers. Oh, and get rid of that awful vacuum cleaner used to clear the crumbs from the table- most unpleasant.
PS. In less than an hour after leaving Saki we had finished an excellent meal at the superb Ali Baba's, served by people who really do care about service. Take note. With a choice of just three main dishes, too small to be used every day day. Also with a view of the taxi rank not the most picturesque restaurant you will find but do not miss it for you can not but fall for the charm of this family establishment. With out a doubt our number one in Dalyan.

Anonymous said on 21/08/2006: This place was average for service the only facinating thing was ginger waiters who just danced and turned the music up so loud it offended everybody at our table and other restaurants in the area including those in bodrum. I felt it quite dangerous when one waiter handed a young boy a firework (still burning) after he had had it in his mouth. The fireworks were dangerous and the staff seemed to enjoy putting people at risk. we will not eat her again unless we are supplied with ear protectors and fire hoses Mopezone said on 17/08/2006: Very good restaurant, all the more because it's bang in the main square and therefore passing trade would enable them to drop standards and still survive. But they haven't - it's friendly, efficient, and the food is great - what's more it's not expensive, even by Dalyan standards - top place, highly recommended. colin said on 04/07/2006: The staff are very good.
My best memory was when they let off some fire works and burnt the table cloth and a ladys new top. just to see the staff's face was great see u all july 06 thanks
Jayne O'Brien said on 02/07/2006: This restaurant is fantastic. Myself and my fiance Andy went on holiday with our friends and their two kids Cian and Niamh (you may remember them Murat!). It was the first restuarant we ate at on our first visit to Dalyan and it did not disappoint. All the staff are very friendly and will do anything to make your stay comfortable. Especially wonderful with the little ones, even supervising them while you enjoy your meal. Hope to be back next year! Angelena said on 30/06/2006: The food and staff were great made a bad holiday great - hope to see you all again next year Gail said on 14/06/2006: Great food, excellent prices. Ate here 6 times in total, breakfast and dinner. Great service although one night they were packed out and the food was a little cold. They more than made up for it with free drinks. Ask the staff to demonstrate turkish dancing - fascinating to watch!! Anonymous said on 16/09/2006: we have just returned from dalyan. have been3 times so far. this is by far the best restaurant in dalyan if you want traditional turkish food. service excellent. nice ambiance in a cosy little 'garden' type setting with trees for a roof. if you want the egg and chips type food you wont find it here. really good value for money. unable to fault it. will said on 19/08/2006: Excellent food, nice music. However, this was our most expensive meal during our holiday and not quite as good as some other restaurants or such a nice location. Apparently, they hope to move further into town next year gary cochrane said on 15/08/2005: Tried this restaurant..wished we hadn't. Service awful, the guy serving was more interested in the passing women to pay any attention to my wife who's hand was outstretched to receive the menu. Ordered the duck as others had said it was good. He told me there was enough for two, but that would only be true if two field mice were sharing. Very poor fare, and I spent the hours between 10pm and 3am being violently ill. Draw your own conclusions. Avoid at all costs. Anonymous said on 12/08/2005: Where is this place?? iv been to dalyan 3 times but iv never seen it!please could somewhere describe where it is located, i love chinese, and turkish food as well but would lik to hav sum chinese haha Jim & Maureen said on 03/06/2005: We tried the restaurant again this year, and once again it was excellent. The quality of food just got better, try the crispy duck - well worth it. See you again in September.

Anonymous said on 11/08/2006: Murat was the only one that attracted the customers in never had a bad meal or a bad bill. Murat was the life and soul of the restaurant. I'll be going to see Murat at the new restaurant that hes working at. David said on 25/07/2006: have never had a bad meal in the many years I have been coming to Dalyan - Husseyin is always friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back again next month. I know there have been some issues with staff in the past but I know Husseyin has worked very hard to sort this out and can't wait to be back in Dalyan again. Anonymous said on 18/07/2006: We only went there for a drink one afternoon and experienced some very childish, bad behaviour from some of the waiters and their friends - perhaps because we were a group of women. But it wasn't pleasant and definitely did not impress us. We never went back there to eat or drink as a result due to the lack of professionalism. john said on 08/07/2006: im sorry if you feel that people are being hard on the place bu i have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. it was simply the waiter murat who let the side down. but i heard that he no longer works here which is great news and we look forward to eating here when we come back in october. kevin from kent (not the waitor) said on 06/07/2006: hi huseyin sorry to hear your having problems with staff, we can honestly say never had a bad meal or bill thankyou for everything and see you again in a couple of weeks hüseyin said on 01/07/2006: hi marian and others...there is no waiter after now at my place...

Anonymous said on 23/06/2006: very poor. i too had extra drinks added on my bill and my meal was more expensive than i was told it was going to be, thankyou murat. it is good to know you are the same slimy cheat you have always been. if the restaurant wants its good reputation back then it should change some of its waiting staff. Nice place to eat though, thanks for getting rid of the bad apple (K) mark and lorraine said on 13/08/2005: Very welcoming and not pushy like some of the Dalyan restaurants.Service was excellent, they even called the Doctor for us when we asked where to find one for my husbands ear infection.Ate here several times and food was excellent and always served within a reasonable time. When I requested a dessert that they did not offer, they went to a different restaurant to get it for me at no extra cost. Penny said on 21/07/2005: see you all next week, Husseyin. Cant wait for our first meal in your newly expanded restaurant cath said on 19/07/2005: one restaurant that you want to give a wide berth to.
Waiters especially KEVIN very pushy. They like you to go to their resaturant every night and are quite rude if you dont. I other words dont go there in the first place Chris & Sue said on 23/06/2005: Not the place to go if you like good food! A central location and some very pushy waiters but the biggest letdown was the food. A pizza filled with bolognaise sauce!! Lamb boiled in Soy sauce!! Gordon Ramsay would have an `effing fit!!! Not one for the foodies! trevor tony said on 20/06/2005: going back june o5 eatan at this restaurant lots of times and the food was always excellent as was bilou the bar manager robyn said on 11/06/2005: excellent
