Hey everyone! I am back and super excited to be on Makulu again. I am not happy about leaving my friends and family again. I had a dream about saying goodbye to everyone last night.

· Reach the World - Chicago
In the fall of 2006, Reach the World will launch a new program in Chicago, IL and a new voyage: the world circumnavigation of Aldebaran, a 43-foot sailboat. Click here for more information!


· New Website
RTW's new website will launch along with the Voyage on October 9 - stay tuned!


· National Geographic Education Foundation
Reach the World was recently selected to be a "Model Program in Geography Education" by the National Geographic Education Foundation. The NGEF has awarded RTW a two-year, $215,000 grant that will support program evaluation and website design projects.

Jim and Shannon left this week and flew on an airplane from New York City to Rome, the capital city of Italy. The rest of us stayed in New York and continued visiting our Reach the World schools!

About The Floating Classroom  

The Floating Classroom is the center for curricular materials related to the Voyage of Makulu. All of the resources on the REACH THE WORLD web site come directly from classroom teachers from our network of collaborating schools, who work with the crewmembers to develop curricular projects based on the Voyage.
