EndNote 9.0.1 Update for Windows

The 9.0.1 patch includes numerous enhancements (listed below) and will update an existing installation of EndNote 9 to 9.0.1.

You can install the update within EndNote by selecting menus - Help > EndNote Program Updates... or by running Update EndNote from the Windows Start menu.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

EndNote 9.0 should be installed prior to running the 9.0.1 Updater.
- Close all programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software.
- Go to "Start > Programs > EndNote > Update EndNote" and follow the prompts to install the patch.

Once the installation is complete the version number should read "EndNote 9.0.1 (Bld 1748)" under Help > About EndNote.

  • Improved CWYW's ability to resolve citations from multiple open libraries.
  • CWYW 'Traveling library' can now be exported into a new library.

  • A correction was made to the Electronic source reference type of Chicago 15th A style which will correct issues with multiple citations.
Import: 
  • Imported references now preserves keyword delimmiters in original data.
  • Expedited appearance of progress bar when importing large term lists.
  • Improved handling of upper case titles.
  • Fixed issue with Tab-delimited import not recognizing updated reference types.
  • Restored ability of direct export from Web of Science to import first and last page numbers.
  • Resolved issues with importing into a duplicate library.
  • When editing import filters, pressing Enter after clicking the "Insert Field" button no longer causes field to revert to former value.
Export: 
  • "Export" and "Copy formatted" commands now export all selected references to a new library.
RTF Document Scan: 
  • Improved formatting abilities for files with Unicode characters in file names.
  • Improved Bibliography numbering.
  • Improved formatting of citations with page numbers.
  • Improved recognition of temporary citations with just author name and record number.
Sorting:
  • Sorting first by "Year" field no longer impacts secondary sorts.
  • Library window now sorts numbers properly.
Search:
  • Improved "Author is" searching within a local library.
Unicode: 
  • Several improvements – especially to handling of double-byte characters in path and file names.
User Interface:
  • "Open PDF / Open URL" command in menu is now active as soon as anything is typed into the URL or Link to PDF fields.
  • Improved scrolling in Output Styles drop down box on the tool bar.
  • Improved window functionality when libraries are opened via double-click.
  • Improved "Link To" options under References menu.
  • Improved Print Preview format for Subject Bibliography.
