Alaska Travel Tips to King Salmon Alaska on Alaska Air & Peninsula Airways


Getting to the Alaska fishing lodge on the Alagnak River is simple alaska airlines to King salmon then a 30 minute floatplane trip with Branch river air,     Travel to this part of Alaska is simple, Our standard air charter trips start Sunday around 10:00 AM in King Salmon. Guests will arrive commercial Air in King Salmon AK, via Penn Air or Alaska Air on Saturday and stay over at the Quinnat hotel this is what we highly recommend, Alaska Air and Penn Air has 3 flights to King Salmon departing Anchorage (ANC) Daily. If you miss our scheduled Charter flights for any reason-plane delays, lost luggage late arrivals on Sunday morning ect, you will pay the entire plane cost for a private charter of $600. We have never had a guest have a problem when they come in Sat night and stay over in King Salmon.

    You will need to make arrangements to arrive in King Salmon (AKN). Call the Hotel on the airport courtesy phone upon arrival and You will be picked up in 5 minutes by the Quinnat hotel van that will meet you at the airport. Your luggage will be transported in our courtesy van to the hotel. There is a great restaurant and Bar/lounge at the hotel and 2 other restaurants 2 bars and a store within 200 yds of the hotel. Sunday morning get up around 8 have a relaxing breakfast and we will have our courtesy van meet you Sunday morning around 10am and transport you to the air charter company for your 30 minute float plane charter across Katmai Park to the Alagnak River here you will be bet by one of our Custom inboard jetboats on the river and taken upriver to the lodge. You can pick up any last minute items at the local store to include alcoholic beverages and also purchase your Alaska fishing licenses. The local air charter service handles all of our float plane charters to camp, and the $175pp one time fee will be paid directly to them at the dock in Cash or credit card you will then be loaded into one of their meticulously maintained Dehavilland Float Planes for the short 30 minute scenic flight.

    On your last day of your trip you will get up at 8am time have breakfast and say good bye to the staff leave your appropriate gratuities with the guides and kitchen staff. We will return you down river by boat to the charter pick up at Estrada's load you back into the float plane charter you will return to the local airport in King Salmon on Sunday between 11 and 3pm depending on scheduling, where you will catch an afternoon return flight to Anchorage between 3-6pm on Alaska air or Penn air so plan according. Any deviation in your arrival or departure times will cause you to miss our scheduled charter flights and you will be responsible for a private charter of $500 per plane. We strongly encourage our guests to come in a day early and schedule Sunday late afternoon flights out of King Salmon. Many of the red eye flights leave anchorage between 10pm and midnight back to the lower 48.

    Custom packages can be arranged for arrivals and departures other than normal Sunday times, but the group will be solely responsible for there charter flights of $600 per plane to the lodge each way.
