Picture of House with World Globe insideThe Family Liaison Office acts as liaison with the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) in Foreign Service foreign-born spouse naturalization cases. The processing time is under the sole authority of the USCIS.

Although the Family Liaison Office provides assistance to all Foreign Affairs agencies in other program areas, FLO's naturalization assistance is limited to Department of State spouses.
