How to travel in the ICBC TravelAlert
web pages?

The map of BC you see when you first enter the home page is the primary travel tool for the site.  Roll your mouse over the map and a magnifying glass will outline an area which you can zoom to for detailed information.

Here’s an overview of what shows up on the Home Page.

To the top of the map is the main WeatherOffice.ec.gc.ca banner providing access to other weather services on the Environment Canada web site www.WeatherOffice.ec.gc.ca.  Included in these services are a link to currently valid weather warnings and an email connection for you to provide feedback to the operators of the icbctravelalert web pages. Just under this banner are a sound on/off button, a link to a disclaimer and a link to this help information.
To the right of the map is the information section where the bulk of the information traveled to on the site will be displayed.
To the left of the map are buttons which can be turned on or off to increase the information which can be accessed from the map itself.
To the bottom of the map are the logos of the three participants in this travelers information service, Environment Canada, ICBC and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Highways, with links to their respective home pages.

Here’s one route route to travel through www.weatheroffice.pyr.ec.gc.ca/icbctravelalert  There are other routes you can explore later.

Roll your mouse over the map and click on the area of interest that shows up under the magnifying glass.

Below the map is a control function allowing you to pan any direction across the map using the 4 arrows or zoom in or out using the + / -in the middle

.   If you want a completely different area, click  on the area you have selected to zoom back to the main BC map.

You can access the images by clicking on the Camera Check Box located to the left of the map in the Stations section. This will turn on camera icons on the map in the location of the camera.
