- [4]: Number of rooms - A number in brackets after a listing name indicates the number of rooms available.
- [Air Conditioning]: Air Conditioning - Central or individual air conditioning
- [Association]: Association - An association requires that operators meet certain criteria in order to be members.
- [BandB]: Bed and Breakfast - Private residence, interaction with hosts. Breakfast is usually a home cooked meal. May be available only on weekends.
- [C]: Chamber of Commerce or Community Site.
- [Campground, RV Facilities]: On Site Campground and/or Recreational Vehicle Facilities.
- [Cont Breakfast]: Continental or Continental Plus Breakfast served.
Central or Individual Air Conditioning
- [Dining Room or Restaurant]: Dining Room or Restaurant on site.
- [E-Guide]: E-Guide - Online site providing comprehensive information about a geographical area.
- [Eco-Resort]: Eco-Resort - Resort providing interaction with the local eco-system, such as native foods, native plant identification, and tours of natural landmarks.
- [Farmstay]: Farm Vacation - Complete vacation packages on working farms, plantations, or ranches, with planned activities and meals provided.
- [Family]: Families and Children welcome.
- [Full Breakfast]: Full Breakfast - Some bed & breakfast inns serve multi-course gourmet breakfasts; others offer more simple fare. Check with the innkeepers for full details.
- [G-L]: Gay/Lesbian Friendly. Although this operation is classified as gay/lesbian friendly, it does not necessarily mean that it caters specifically to gay clientele. A [G-L] code likely signifies an open-minded travel operation that is 'friendly' to everyone. Please contact the host(s) for more details.
- [Group Rates]: Groups Welcome - Group Rates Available.
- [Guest House]: Guest House - Detached accommodations which include private facilities for the guest. Hosts live nearby. Breakfast is usually continental.
- [Handicap]: Some wheelchair accessible features.
- [Home Exchange]: Exchange - home available for exchange with residents of another area or country.
- [Homestay]: Homestay - Similar to a bed and breakfast, perhaps a bit smaller and more intimate. During a homestay, you are like part of the family.
- [Hostel]: Hostel accommodations.
- [Hotel]: Hotel accommodations.
- [Inn]: Inn - Usually larger, usually more amenities than a bed and breakfast. Inns may host small business conferences, weddings, etc.
- [Internet Access]: On Site Internet Access - This may range from dial-up access, modem ports, high-speed internet, to wireless access. Check with innkeepers for full information.
- [Mansion]: Mansion or Museum - Restored historical mansion, famous home, other landmark, or castle. Hosts usually live on premises or nearby.
- [Misc]: Miscellaneous.
- [Motel]: Motel accommodations.
- [Non-Smoking]: No Smoking Indoors.
- [Pet-Friendly]: Pets Allowed. Ask lodging hosts about restrictions or extra charges.
- [Private Baths]: All or most rooms have private baths.
- [Reservations Service]: Reservations Service - A reservations service will assist you in your search for the right operator. Since they are profit-driven, they usually work hard to find what you need.
- [Resort]: Resort. Usually provides all meals, accommodations, and packages with sightseeing and activities.
- [Seniors Discounts]: Discounts for Seniors.
- [Sightseeing, Activities]: Sightseeing services & activities available on site, or booking for nearby sightseeing activities available.
- [Singles Discounts]: Singles Welcome - Singles Rates Available.
- [Small Hotel]: Small Historical Hotel - Small, unique, landmark type of hotel.
- [Spa]: Spa on site or spa services available.
- [Tours]: Tour company.
- [Vacation Rental]: Vacation Cottage, Home, Apartment or Condo Rental.
- [Weddings, Honeymoons]: Honeymoon/Wedding services available. Check carefully with innkeepers. Small inns will not offer the same services as larger inns or hotels.
- [Wilderness, Adventure Travel]: Wilderness or Adventure Travel Company - May offer complete vacation packages with planned activities and meals provided. Part or all of the package may involve staying in tents, log cabins, or similar accommodations.
