(We just couldn't resist that one.) In reality, it's the lack of sensitivity that transfers through the blank, into the handle and dead ends at the rod butt that can really be a pain. When you're throwing crank baits for hours on end or flippin' a tube in deep cover, you have to be able to feel what's going on. The majority of inexpensive mass marketed brands have focused their attention on being everything to everyone. Not to mention, making them as cheap as possible.

At Lamiglas our focus is entirely different. We're all about actions. Clean, precise, well-defined and infinitely controlled actions. Every one of the 61 technique specific rods we make has been painstakingly designed and tested to provide the angler with exceptional performance and feel. Why? Because it only takes one missed strike to miss making the cut, and we don't want to see you walking around kicking yourself in the butt.

Bass fishing has evolved. Not only on the national scene, but at the club and local level also. There are local tournaments available in which the purses are equal to a comfortable annual income. Making a living at bass fishing is more of a reality now than at any other time. For the last three years, our development team has focused on producing this series of rods specifically for those with the most serious approach to the sport. Every aspect of the XMG 50 series has been optimized to provide unrivaled sensitivity and unbridled strength, in a rod you can literally fish for days on end. In a field where you can financially measure the cost of a missed fish, the XMG 50 series does not re present a rod purchase but an investment.

The heart and soul of the XMG 50 bass series is our pro prietary XMG graphite. A precise blend of high modulus materials, the material takes sensitivity to the extreme, because when it comes down to it, you can't catch fish if you can’t feel the strike. When one bite can make the difference between beans-and-weenies and filet mignon, the choice becomes easy. Not stopping there, we've refined the blank to offer incredibly small diameters, while retaining fast-actions and inspiring power. With a minimum of wind resistance, the rods are quick in the hand, incredibly light to the touch, and a pleasure to fish with for days on end.

Guide systems can work for or against you. Chosen wisely, rod guides maintain the ultra-lightweight and quick tapers of the blanks. A poor choice turns the best blanks into slugs. The XMG 50 bass series feature American Tackle's Titan™ frames in combination with their Nanolite™ rings. The solid titanium Titan™ guide frames are 60-percent lighter than stainless steel and are corrosion proof. The Nanolite™ rings a re 45-percent stronger than standard ringed guides. The Nanolite™ inserts are also diamond polished and ground round to virtually eliminate line wear, while increasing line flow and casting distance. Mounted on the blanks, the low profile system maintains the feather-weight feel and offers incredible handling. Super-braids present no challenges to the guides and a lifetime of service is an expectation.

Cork is a tradition, and a universal component of bass rods. Not any longer. Pushing the envelope of sensitivity, we've manufactured our own graphite handles. These handles complete the connection between lure, line, rod blank, and hand, delivering an unmatched sense of the presentation, strike, and fish. In addition to sensitivity benefits, the graphite handles do not capture scents as cork does and will outlast cork over the long term. Completing the handles are American Tackle's Comfort Finish™ reel seats. The casting seat allows finger contact with the blank while the contoured spin seat provides increased palm contact, delivering a firm grip with minimal pressure.
