responsibilities
The Met Office has international responsibilities for the
provision of aviation services and, as part of this, is
one of only two ICAO designated World Area Forecast Centres
(WAFC).

As the designated UK met. service provider, the Met Office
provides expert advice and services for the CAA and NATS.

around the world can benefit from the Met Office's experience
and expertise in aviation meteorology.
Single European skies
The introduction of the Single European Skies legislation
will have far-reaching effects on Europe's aviation industry.
The Met Office has unrivalled experience in running a cost
effective, reliable aviation met. service and can work with
you to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.

Aeronautical met. forecasters
and observers
from organisations around the world can benefit from the Met
Office's experience and expertise in aviation meteorology to
meet ICAO requirements. Professional training courses are delivered
in accordance with WMO at the Met Office College in Exeter or
a location of your choice.
FLYSAFE
Within the next 20 years air traffic is expected to triple worldwide.
Funded by the EU, 36 participants from 14 countries have joined
forces to design, develop, implement, test and validate a complete
Next Generation Integrated Surveillance System (NGISS).
