Biography
Keith’s principal areas of practice are environmental law, complex litigation, permitting, and counseling. He has an active litigation practice in state and federal courts involving toxic torts, cost recovery litigation, the Clean Water Act, CERCLA, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and state statutory claims. Recognized as one of the best young environmental attorneys in the state, Keith is listed as a “Texas Rising Star” in Texas Monthly magazine and one of the “Lawyers on the Fast Track” in H Texas magazine.

Experience
- Lead trial attorney in a 5-week trial defending a Fortune 500 company and a multinational corporation. The Superfund contribution case, which arose from historical operations at a waste disposal site, was the largest Superfund case to go to trial in Texas.
- Lead attorney in several cases involving property damage and/or personal injury claims arising from soil and ground water contamination caused by commercial or industrial activities.
- Primary environmental attorney for a Fortune 200 company in an international arbitration conducted under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce; claims involved French, U.S., and Latin American assets.
- Primary environmental attorney for a Fortune 200 company in several multi-plaintiff tort cases involving property damage and/or personal injury claims arising out of industrial operations.
- Key member of the trial team representing a public entity in the permitting of a $1.4 billion marine terminal for container and cruise ships. The controversial project was successfully defended at the trial court level in both state and federal courts.
- Second chaired a trial resulting in no liability jury verdict for the seller in a case alleging fraud and breach of contract; the commercial property was contaminated with hazardous chemicals.
- Key member of a litigation team in the successful defense of several multi-plaintiff toxic tort suits involving personal injury and property damage claims arising out of the historical operations of a refinery.
