Florida Golf Course does not get involved in the actual transaction between renters and owners, but we have some suggestions for finalizing the rental process. Your renter may be hesitant to send you a check directly without sufficient protection. You must understand their concerns and take steps to ensure a safe and secure transaction for both parties involved.

There are two ways to approach the rental process, Escrow Service and Private Transaction.

Escrow Service

1. The two members come to an agreement on a rental price and use of a title insurance co.'s escrow service.
2. The owner completes rental agreement and escrow instructions.
3. Renter reviews and completes application information and submits to title insurance co.
4. Title insurance company contacts both parties to collect a non-refundable escrow fee from each. Renter also pays 50% of the rental amount at this time.
5. 60 days(Varies) prior to start of vacation, renter makes final payment to the title insurance company.
6. The title insurance company sends a check to the owner approximately 10 to 15 days after the last day of the rental period.

Private Transaction

1. The owner and renter come to an agreement on the rental terms.
2. The owner should sign and provide the renter with the agreement.
3. The renter should return the rental agreement to the owner with a deposit.
4. The owner should notify the resort of the transfer, provide all contact information for the renter, and request that a confirmation and check-in instructions be sent directly to the renter.
5. Once confirmation from the resort is received, the renter should send the balance of the rental money to the owner.
6. The renter should call the resort 30 days prior to their arrival date to double-check the reservations, and go over check-in date and instructions.
