Ellis Maples, inspired by a picturesque, rolling tract of land in the Sandhills area, carved out another challenge for golfers in the Carolinas. Whispering Woods Golf Course, stands as a credit to him and a pleasure for all. Enjoy eighteen holes of pristine lakes, tall pines, and rolling hills at storied Whispering Woods. The par 3 eighth is my favorite hole in the entire state. It may be because it is my husband’s nemesis hole, and he can never hit the green, or the fact that I never miss it, either way enjoy this course as our top pick for North Carolinas Courses for Women.
Whispering Woods has always been one of my favorite North Carolina Golf Courses. Now with the new club house, it is complete again. The course is playing better than ever, and the scenery is beautiful. The new club house is gorgeous, and you MUST have one of the Cheeseburgers at the turn. As the kids say "Oh My God!" I have not had a burger like that since I left New England. But Back to Golf. The course is great, the staff are wonderful, and this continues to be one of my top picks for North Carolina Golf.
The par three, eighth hole will always be my favorite. With an elivated tee box, and a large green, it is easy to pick your spot and go for it.
consideration: This is a GREAT place to go with all skill levels. Enjoy the scenery, and don't forget about the Burgers.
