Attendee Count
Select 8* to identify how many participants are attending your conference call at any
time throughout its duration. An audio prompt will be played notifying you of your
conference attendee head count.

Attendee Name Announce
By enabling the attendee name announce feature at the beginning of your conference
call, each participant will be required to record their name before gaining access
to the conference call. Upon entry to the conference call, the name of the new attendee
is announced to the moderator. See also
conference role call.

Audio Conferencing
Refers to getting 3 or more parties connected together to send and receive information
via audio conference. Although typically synonymous with telephone conferencing, audio
conferencing can also refer to VOIP or audio streaming.
|

Conference Bridge
The hardware used by telephone providers to bring 3 or more participants
together in a conference call.
|

Conference Bridge Number
A set of numeric digits used after entering the conference call dial-in number to
direct the conference caller into the specific conference call.
|

Conference Call
A meeting via the telephone in which 3 or more parties are connected by a conference bridge
to enable everyone connection on the same call. Also referred to as telephone conferencing,
audio conferencing and teleconferencing.
|

Conference Call ID
Used for reporting and tracking purposes, the conference ID works to identify a specific
conference call; the details (date, time, number of participants, total number of minutes
etc…) and any conference recordings associated with it.
|

Conference Call Preview
The MP3 file of your recorded conference call can be previewed and streamed directly from
your Web Manager using a media player on your PC.
|

Conference Call Transcription
After recording your conference call, a text version can be created by an outside
party. Although LiveOffice Teleconferencing does not bring this service in-house
for clients, qualified transcriptions service providers can be recommended.
|

Conference Calling
The act of getting 3 or more parties involved on a telephone call at the same time using a
conference bridge to enable everyone connection on the same call.
|

Conference Recording
Any conference call can be recorded when the feature is enabled by the conference host.
The call is recorded and converted to an MP3 audio file which can then be replayed
or downloaded to a local PC for later playback with most widely adopted media players.
|

Conference Calling Continuation
To have your conference call continue with you
(the host) you can enable conference calling continuation with a 3* from the
telephone keypad. The conference call will then end as the last participant
hangs up the telephone.

Conference Web Manager
LiveOffice Teleconferencing provides for its
clients a web-based call manager that will enable conference hosts to
see and manage its attendees in real-time over the web. From the web
manager, all conference calling features can be enabled. See
conference calling features.

Conferencing
A meeting for consultation or discussion with 2
or more participants.
|

Conversation Mode
The default mode for conference calling whereby, each participant has the ability
to talk and listen during the conference call. A conference host can always mute/unmute
participants as required during the conference.
|

Dial-in Number
The telephone number used by participants and host to
access the conference calling system.
|

Email Invite
The communication sent via email requesting someone to
attend your conference call.
|

End a Conference Call
To end your conference call, simply hang up
your telephone and the conference session will end.
|

Guest Speaker
Refers to a second or third party involved during a
presentation style conference call to speak while the large portion
of attendance is muted and listening only top material presented.
|

International Dial-In Number
This is the alternative dial-in number
for conference calling used by international callers outside the 50
United States and Canada to gain access into your conference call.
Although you will incur the same per minute rate for this international
calling, the caller using this international dial-in number will pay
the long distance rates charged by their long-distance telephone provider.
|

Locking and Unlocking Conference
A host can choose to lock and
unlock his or her conference call as desired anytime. Select 2*
from the telephone keypad to lock the conference and again to
unlock the conference.
|

Moderator
Person, or persons, who presides over an assembly,
meeting or discussion.
|

Moderator PIN
A 4 digit code required for security purposes and
allows for our reservationless conference calling service. The
Moderator PIN ensures that only the host can originate the
conference call and designates them as the one in control with
access to all the conference calling features and controls.
|

MP3
Officially, MPEG Audio Layer 3. This term refers to an
audio compression technology that compresses CD-quality sound
by a factor of roughly 10, while retaining most of the original
sound characteristics. MP3 files are typically played via media
player software from your PC.
|

Mute
Refers to blocking the broadcast of audio during a conference
call. A participant or host can "self-mute" themselves with a 4*
from the telephone keypad. A host can also mute his or her entire
participant group with a 1* from their telephone keypad.
|

New Participant Tone
Refers to the audio chime announcing a new participant
as they join into your conference call. By default, this feature is
enabled but can be turned off if desired with 9* from your telephone
keypad.
|

On-Demand Conference Calls
A conference call that does not require advanced scheduling with the conference calling
service provider. You can host a conference call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as needed
without prior notice.
|

Optional Time Extension
Although our conference calling service has a 6 hour time limit by default, the
moderator can extend the session when prompted 5 minutes before the 6 hour
limit is reached.
|

Organizer
Synonymous with host or moderator, the organizer is generally the one that schedules
and hosts the conference call or web conference.
|

Participant
A person attending a web conference or conference call, typically not used
when referring to the conference host.
|

Podcast
Recording of a non-music audio broadcast (ex. news, sports, presentation,
discussion etc.) in MP3 format for playback in a digital music player.
|

Podcasting
Refers to recording anything and everything to be played back in a digital player.
|

Presentation Mode
Denoted by the participants ability to listen only to a conference call or view only the
web conference. This reflects the host's requirement to present necessary material
typically to large groups as opposed to more collaborative sessions with more
attendee interaction. See also

Question and Answer (Q&A) Mode
Our custom web-controls allow the conference call host to mute all participants and still enable conference guests
“raise their hand” with a (5) (*) from the telephone keypad. The conference call host can then uncheck the mute box
next to this particular caller and allow them to speak This caller can then be muted again and his/her hand lowered.
If the question has already been asked and answered, a participant can “lower their hand” by selecting (5) (*) from
the telephone again.

Reservationless
No scheduling, reservations or advanced notice required.
|

Reservationless Conference
A conference call that does not require advanced scheduling with the conference calling service
provider. You can host a conference call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as needed.
|

Role Call
Refers to the playback of recorded attendee names resulting from the attendee name
announce feature being enabled. Selecting 7* from the telephone keypad will trigger
the roll call feature informing the host of each named attendee on the conference call.
|

Self Mute
Selecting 4* from the telephone keypad during LiveOffice Teleconferencing conference
calls, an attendee can "self mute" their phone line and pause the broadcast of their
audio. If a self muted attendee would like to enable their ability to talk again they
can select 4* again.
|

Start a Conference Call
To start your conference call, simply dial in to the toll-free conference number and enter
your conference bridge number, then your Moderator PIN.
|

Talk/Listen Mode
This is the default mode for conference calling whereby each participant has the ability to
talk and listen during the conference call for up to 50 participants and is ideal for
collaborative conference calls and the exchange of information as opposed to a larger
session in hosted in presentation mode.

Teleconference
Synonymous with telephone conference and audio conference, see
conference call.
|

Telephone Conference
Synonymous with teleconference and audio conference, see
conference call.
|

Teleseminar
A workshop or lecture delivered via telephone. Rather than just a one-way presentation
over the phone, teleseminar implies a two-way interaction between the audience
and the presenters.

Toll Call
Usually, unless both the caller and service provider are in the same locale, a
toll call is a long-distance telephone call in which the caller must pay a
long-distance fee. This fee is determined by the caller's long-distance provider.
|

Toll Conference Call
A meeting via the telephone in which 3 or more parties are connected by a conference
bridge to enable everyone connection on the same call. Each participant including
the moderator may incur fees depending on their long-distance telephone provider.

Toll-Free Call
A toll-free call is provided to the caller free of charge regardless of their geographic
location. Toll-free service is typically identified by a telephone number area
code of 800 or 888.

Toll-Free Conference Call
A meeting via the telephone in which 3 or more parties are connected by a conference
bridge to enable everyone connection on the same call. Each participant within the
50 United States and Canada will be calling free of charge as the meeting host will
