Brunswick County is home to fifteen public schools. There are also private schools in the area. When enrolling a child in school for the first time, you will need to call the Brunswick County Board of Education office to find out which school your child will be attending. To qualify for kindergarten, children must be 5-years-old on or before October 15th. Parents will need to present a copy of their child’s birth certificate, immunization records and social security number.

ProgramsBrunswick Community College (BCC) Brunswick Community College is at the heart of the county’s educational system. Located in Supply, North Carolina, BCC is celebrating its 25th anniversary. BCC has a strong community presence and a wide range of programs of study. The College awards associate degrees, certificates and diplomas in programs including Aquaculture, Child Care, Law Enforcement, Business, Information Systems, Nursing, Horticulture and Turfgrass Management. BCC provides a college transfer program, including a special relationship with nearby University of Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW), which allows students to take the first two years of general college requirements at BCC before making a smooth transition into the larger four-year campus at UNCW. Gardner-Webb University’s Goal Program Students can complete their undergraduate degree through Gardner-Webb University's GOAL Program at BCC. Gardner-Webb University, based in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, offers bachelor degree classes at sixteen extension campuses in NC including one at Brunswick Community College. All community college graduates with an accredited Associate's degree are accepted. Courses are offered on weekends (Friday pm and Saturday am) with some online options every semester (including summers). Regardless of your major, the Program is normally 64 hours to complete, with Curriculum comprised of half Major courses and half Core courses. All courses necessary to graduate will be offered within a two-year sequence. Majors offered through Gardner-Webb University's GOAL Program at BCC are Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Health Management, Human Services and Management Information Systems. Horry-Georgetown Technical College With campuses in Conway, South Carolina, Georgetown, SC, and Myrtle Beach, SC, and an Off-Campus Site at North Myrtle Beach High School, Horry-Georgetown Technical College offers nearly 80 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs in a variety of career-focused and transfer areas, as well as a diverse and rapidly expanding list of corporate and business training continuing education options. Four-year and graduate degrees are also offered within an hour’s drive at the University of Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) and at Coastal Carolina University, which has campuses in Conway and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
