   | Mawamba Lodge is located on the Northeast area of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, between the Tortuguero Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. You can reach the lodge by land/boat or by air. By land is a 3-hours drive from San Jose towards the Port of Matina followed by a 2-½-river boat trip along the canals of Tortuguero to Mawamba Lodge. By air take a 30-minutes flight from San Jose to Tortuguero Airstrip, which is just 5 minutes boat-ride to the lodge. Mawamba is a 15-acre beachfront lodge located on the right side of Tortuguero offering nice views to the canals. It is the ideal hideaway for nature lovers and people seeking for soft adventure. It’s beautiful gardens and rustic accommodations, blends with the exuberant jungle vegetation, exotic birds and wildlife creating the perfect balance of nature. The lodge features 54 comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, hot water and ceiling fans. Rooms either 3 single beds or one double bed and one single bed. The lodge has a capacity to host up to 100 people.
