6.0.2 Update for Macintosh |
EndNote
6.0.2 is a free update for users of EndNote 6.0 and 6.0.1. It will
not update EndNote 5.x or earlier. This update will modify the EndNote
program file to be compatible with Macintosh OS 10.2 (Jaguar) and
with changes being introduced at PubMed.
This update will not update any styles, filters, connection files
or Microsoft Word Templates. For the latest updates for these files,
check the Support & Services page of
this web site.
Download and Installation Instructions
for Endnote 6.0 (build 232) and Endnote 6.0.1 final version users:
- Click on the "Download" button below to download
the "EndNote602Updater.hqx"
file to your computer. If
your browser does not automatically 'unstuff' the HQX file then
you may have to double-click on the file to 'unstuff' it. When
the file is 'unstuffed' you should see a "EndNote602Updater"
file (without the HQX extension).
- Exit
all programs.
- Double-click
the "EndNote602Updater."
- Follow
the installation prompts to install.
- Reboot
your machine.
Note to Endote 6.0.1 Beta testers:
The Endnote 6.0.2 update will work only on existing installations
of Endnote 6.0 (build 232) and the final version of Endnote 6.0.1.
It will not work on the public beta version of Endnote 6.0.1.
If you are not sure which version of Endnote 6.0.1 you have installed,
open the Finder window and locate the Endnote 6.0.1 application
file. Then go to the File menu and select Get Info. Both the public
beta and the final version of Endnote 6.0.1 will show "6.0.1(Bld
400)" as the Version. But if you have the public beta installed
it will show "Fri., Aug. 30, 2002" under the date created
while the final version will show a date created in October.
If you have the public beta version of Endnote 6.0.1 installed
you must do the following before you can install the 6.0.2 update:
- Use Finder to locate the Endnote 6.0.1 application file in
the Endnote 6 folder.
- Drag it to the Trash and empty the Trash.
- Make back-up copies of any Endnote library files or custom
content files (styles, filters, or connection files) you have
saved in the Endnote 6 folder. The next step (reinstalling 6.0)
should not affect these files, but it is a good idea to do so
as a precautionary measure.
- Reinstall Endnote 6.0 from the CD or installer file into the
same folder.
- Now you can apply the 6.0.2 updater.

our technical support staff.
