Rogue River

Rogue River
Book Rafting Trip Online

The 'Wild & Scenic' Rogue River is one of the West's most famous and enchanting waterways. A Pacific Coast wonderland of deep green pools, lush forests, and sparkling waterfalls.

Dark forests shelter an abundance of wildlife, while the river itself has long been famous for world-class fishing and white water rafting.

From its headwaters along the crest of the Cascade Range near Crater Lake, the Rogue runs generally west for 200 miles to the Pacific Ocean.

Half Day White Water - Rogue River

Our half-day whitewater trip on the "Wild & Scenic' Rogue River is a great introduction to whitewater rafting and one of our most popular trips. The put-in location is just below Gold Rey Dam about 7 miles upriver from the tiny town of Gold Hill.

This section of the river offers two thrilling Class IV rapids, many other smaller rapids and even a few surprises! Our 1/2 day Rogue Whitewater Trip is longer and offers more rapids than our competitors. Your time on the water is about 2 hours and 45 minutes - a great taste of whitewater adventure with plenty of time left in your day to enjoy some of the other sights of Southern Oregon. Children as young as 8 years of age are welcome on this trip - making it a perfect adventure for the whole family.

Half-day trips include transportation, equipment, and a snack of chips and salsa, veggies, dip and cookies, plus water & soda.

Full Day Scenic/Whitewater - Rogue River

On our full day trip, you get a 'taste' of everything . . . beautiful scenery, peaceful float sections, and mild to medium rapids. We'll stop mid-day for a gourmet lunch and a little rest and relaxation. After lunch you'll be able to tackle a less demanding section of the river on your own via Inflatable Kayaks (we'll provide instruction on the kayaks, if you'd like). This leisurely self-guided float takes about 2+ hours. We'll provide your shuttle return to our riverside park and your vehicle. We invite you to join us on this full day of rafting fun!

2 day/1 night Camp Trip - Rogue River

Our multi-day camp trips are great fun for everyone. Unforgettable scenery for miles and miles, and plenty of exciting rapids.

Raft the beautiful Rogue River during the day, camp out under the stars at night, then wake to a delicious breakfast the next morning before starting out again. Two exciting days on the river, delicious food, good company - does it get any better than this?

A day of rafting is sure to work up your appetite so, at dinner time, our guides become chefs. We start out with appetizers followed by country-style ribs or chicken, tossed green salad, baked potatoes, French bread, and cheesecake. Wine, beer and juice are also served with dinner.

After a restful night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, then its back on the river to do it all over again!

2 day/1 night Lodge Trip - Rogue River

The Upper Rogue River is a wonderful scenic float trip with long clam water drifts and a happy mixture of some Class II rapids to keep it exciting. Wildlife abounds and there's lots of time for sunning and swimming, water fights and photo opportunities. We begin our journey below Lost Creek Lake and at day's end, we'll pull up at the lovely Edgewater Inn in the bucolic artist's haven of Shady Cove, OR. Enjoy fine food and beverages at one of Shady Coves local establishments and then soak in a warm bath and drift off to sleep in a comfy bed. Next morning you will awaken refreshed and ready to do it all over again. After breakfast, we continue on to Tou Velle State Park and then shuttle you back to your vehicle.

Children as young as 6 are welcome on this trip, making it the ultimate family vacation.

Downriver

RKRA offers two methods of overnight camping on multi-day trips. "Downriver" style is the more traditional raft trip; all of the camp gear and personal belongings are loaded on a gear boat that is traveling with your group. Once you put in on the river you don't get off until your trip is over. The downriver style allows for more flexibility of where you stop and camp, provides a more remote wilderness experience, and gives a sense of independence and self-reliance. You can expect tasty riverside meals with an emphasis on grilling and Dutch oven wizardry; quality backpack style tent, bag, and pad sleeping gear; using a basic "groover" rafting toilet in the woods; and feeling completely removed from civilization. The disadvantages of this style are the limitations on what and how much we can carry, despite our best efforts things do get wet, and that in hot dry summers there may be a ban on campfires in remote camps.

Pamper the Camper

The second method of overnight camping is a RKRA exclusive we call "Pamper the Camper". The Lower Klamath River has a string of US Forest Service campgrounds along Rte 96 which runs above the river canyon and periodically dips down to the river to provide boater access. "Pamper the Camper" utilizes these access points and campgrounds to provide a first class overnight experience by shuttling you off the river to your campsite where our camp host has already unloaded the packed gear truck, set up your cabin tent with cot, arranged an outfitters kitchen to die for, and started a crackling fire in the USFS fire ring surrounded by a circle of super comfy chairs. You'll be greeted by your personal (and dry!) gear, creative appetizers, a variety of libations, and an enclosed campground toilet. The bigger kitchen allows our chefs to prepare and present meals you will talk about for years, food paired with the very best wines offered in California and Oregon. You can relax with horseshoes or other games, fish with your own tackle, break out your cameras, or maybe play your precious musical instrument. With a truck and trailer, there is almost nothing we can't bring in to make you more comfortable or happy.
