Ascensia is the brand name of a line of blood glucose monitors manufactured by Bayer. Bayer makes a variety of meters in the Ascensia line. The Ascensia line includes the following meters: Ascensia CONTOUR Blood Glucose Monitoring System, Ascensia BREEZE Blood Glucose Monitoring System, Ascensia DEX 2 Blood Glucose Monitoring System, Ascensia ELITE Blood Glucose Monitoring System and Ascensia ELITE XL Blood Glucose Monitoring System.
Accu Chek is a line of diabetes care products manufactured by Roche Diagnostics, Inc. The Accu Chek line contains blood glucose meters, test strips, and lancets for blood sampling.
Actos is a medication that is used to control high blood sugar is type 2 diabetes. People with type 2 diabetes are not able to properly utilize the insulin produced by their body.
Amaryl may be used in combination with insulin or Metformin when diet, exercise, and Amaryl or metformin alone are not enough to lower your blood glucose levels. Metaglip is the brand name for the generic drugs: Glipizide and Metformin. Both of these drugs are used to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Metaglip is indicated for glycemic control when a patient is not able to control their blood sugar levels through diet and exercise. Metaglip is not intended to be a substitute for diet and exercise. It is intended to be an additional part of an overall diabetes treatment plan.
Prandin is a prescription medicine for diabetics to help gain control of blood sugar levels after eating. Many type 2 diabetics are able to get control of their blood sugar levels by following a diabetic diet and daily exercise plan. However, many type 2 diabetics will need additional help in controlling their blood sugars. Prandin is an oral medication that is used as additional help for sugar level control.
Starlix is a diabetes drug that is designed to help the pancreas release insulin. Insulin is a hormone that controls the amount of sugar in your blood. Starlix is usually indicated to be taken before each major meal. It should be taken with a glass of water.
