Hawaii Shark Excursion Tours
Oahu Hawaii Shark Excursion with Hawaii Shark Encounters
If you're looking for the time of your life, get ready! An excursion with Hawaii Shark Encounters will make the list of the most exciting things you've ever done.
An Oahu Hawaii Shark Excursion
We give you 1.5 hours full of excitement in the shark-filled waters just 3 miles off Oahu's North Shore. Hawaii Shark Encounters vessels leave from Haleiwa Harbor and just 15 minutes later, we're ready to show you the sharks and share our knowledge about them.
Our professional code won't allow danger to either the sharks or you. But that doesn't mean that you won't have your share of thrills. Getting face-to-face with real sharks in their natural environment on our Hawaii Shark Excursion will satisfy anyone's expectations.
You can see Hawaii Shark Encounters on many TV shows such as Discovery, National Geographic, and Animal Planet. You will see how we have built a proud reputation as partners in the effort to increase popular understanding of sharks worldwide.
What Happens on Your Oahu Hawaii Shark Excursion
Minutes after the sharks hear the boat's engines, their natural curiosity draws them to the surface and the Hawaii Shark Excursion fun begins. The appearance of sharks on our excursions is so reliable that if you don't see a shark, you don't pay!
What You Do
To see and experience the most on your Hawaii Shark Excursion, you get into the shark cage. The huge plexiglas windows are nearly invisible and the water is so clear that you can almost see down to the ocean floor 400 feet below. You won't feel slightest bit confined because the cage is big enough for you to move about freely and the top is open so you can easily get in and out of it. See our "Shark Cage" page for more details.
When the first shark appears, we send the first volunteers into the cage to get a closer look. Your excursion really takes off as the sharks glide along and bump the cage. You can fearlessly look a massive Galapagos shark in the eye, because he can't break the solid, 1/4 inch plexiglas. Go ahead, stare him down!
What You Need to Know
In addition to the Galapagos sharks, the Hawaii Shark Excursion often features Sandbar sharks. Both sharks types are exciting visitors because of their curious and fearless natures. They can arrive in groups as large as 30 that swim and dive very close to the cage. (See the "Our Hawaii Sharks" page for lots more information about the sharks you might see.)
The Hawaii Shark Excursion is for everyone! It isn't about age or diving skill, rather what you are willing to see and learn. We offer an experience that both newbies and professional divers will relish. Each Hawaii Shark Excursion is a new adventure, so the more you know, the more you can appreciate.
Finally, we know it's tempting to plan this--the best experience of your trip--for last, but we ask you to be flexible. Weather can be unpredictable and occasionally we must reschedule excursions. So plan some alternatives and you won't miss your chance at an awesome Hawaii Shark Excursion!
After the shark tour, check out the town and beautiful public beaches nearby. The harbor is easy walking distance from lots of great shops and site-seeing in Haleiwa town.
