Whistler Snowmobiling

Take a break from the slopes and go snowmobiling in the Whistler valley. Experience a rush of adrenaline with a customized snowmobile excursion. Visit the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics and explore the endless network of trails and an abundance of deep powder. Ride through Blackcomb mountain winds through forest trails to a wide-open play area, where you can let loose and enjoy a chance to free- ride your 500cc snowmobile. Explore trails through old growth forests, play in deep powder bowls, and experience the thrill of snowmobiling.

Cat skiing offers luxurious Bombardier snowcats which will take you on an unforgettable day of cat skiing or snowboarding in the Whistler backcountry. Your day will consist of an average of 7,000 to 10,000 vertical feet of untracked powder. Ride through the fresh powder and take advantage of not having to wait in long lift lines. Snowcat Skiing is enjoyed by both first-timers to backcountry powder skiing as well as seasoned powder veterans. Generally an 'intermediate' level of skiing is necessary. Guests are toured around on fully equipped Bombardier Snowcats. These Snowcats have comfortable seating for 12, ski racks, heated passenger cell, panoramic view windows. The beauty about Snowcat Skiing is that there are no lift lines, epic powder all day, great atmosphere, and the best 'bang for your buck'. Catskiing offers the most accessible backcountry powder skiing and snowboarding in Whistler, BC. They offer extraordinary guided backcountry skiing and snowboarding adventures. The machines you would see grooming ski hills are similar to the ones that are used to transport skiers/snowboarders into the backcountry. Here skiers/snowboarders can enjoy an exciting day with a certified guide, carving through powder and endless terrain while absorbing spectacular views.

If you want a fabulous way to enjoy the beautifully scenic Whistler and have a thrilling workout at the same time, then you'll love snowshoeing throughout Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Enjoy gliding through the freshly fallen snow in the most beautiful spot in Canada. A variety of tours for all ages and abilities are offered for this exciting adventure. Glide through the peaceful scenery and experience nature first hand.

With a large variety of tours offered, you'll be able to find the best one suited for you and your family. On all tours expect to discover wild birds, nests and fresh animal tracks. The "Natural Mystic" introductory tour is perfect for beginners. The tour includes a gondola tour up Whistler or Blackcomb Mountain when you then get to enjoy the freshly fallen snow and Whistler's scenic trails. If a moderately difficult tour is more your style, then the "Winter Wonderland" Tour may be for you. Are you an early riser? Then you may want to check out the "Early Morning Ascent" Tour which begins before Whistler and Blackcomb open for the day. The quiet and majestic peacefulness on this morning tour must be experienced to be believed. The tours take around 1.5-3.5 hours depending on the tour, and each one has their one beauty to be experienced.

The Great Wall Climbing Centre in Whistler is great for all ages and abilities! No experience is necessary! Challenge yourself with the endless number of wall climbing routes this centre has to offer. There are countless numbers of ways to enjoy this activity and its fun for the whole family. They provide excellent training to beginners and also have all the equipment that you need to rent or buy.

If you are a beginner, or have never climbed before, do not worry because the centre offers guided session and training for all of those wanting to climb. Their experienced gym guides will safely take you thorough your first climbs. One-hour sessions include Gym Guide, instruction, and safety equipment, climbing shoes and full use of the Climbing Gym. The goal of this course is to make you instinctively climb more efficiently. It will begin with hand and foot work, and then move on to body positioning, movement techniques, and finally some exercises that will help work each of these areas. Also, for the experienced climbers, enjoy the challenges of bouldering or lead climbing. The gym also provides drop-in passes, equipment rentals and sales. Lessons and workshops of various kinds are also offered. For parents, enjoy a Village adventure on your own when you drop the kids off for a three-hour climbing session, including a kid-style dinner.

ZipTrek

Experience the exhilaration of flying as you glide along steel ziplines suspended high above the breathtaking white-water river that divides Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. This safe and affordable sport is thrilling and unique. Enjoy the valley first hand and glide along the safe zipline over eighty feet in the air through the beautiful rainforest. Watch the wildlife below you while you soar through the valley.

Ziplining is a thrilling sport for those of you who are adventurous. Guided tours include five incredible zipline rides that gain progressively in height and length with the longest spanning over 1100ft. The ziplines are joined by a network of ground based boardwalks and trails, and by aerial stairways and bridges at heights of over eighty feet in the tree canopy! Ziplining involves gliding along a suspended steel cable, using a pulley and climbing harness. Tours operate in all weather conditions, 365 days a year. It is an adventure that is accessible to all and produces a similar effect over and over - no one can believe how much they enjoyed themselves! Ziptrek's tour area lies nestled in the valley between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains and covers over 11 hectares (33 acres) of land including areas of untouched, ancient coastal temperate rainforest.
