For the fisherman in summer and winter, take your pick of either the Michigamme River or Juncob Lake. Walk to either one from your cabin. The lake is filled with Northern Pike, Large Mouth Bass, Crappie and Bluegills. The river has these fish plus Rock Bass and Walleye. Winter brings "great snows" to our area. Jump on your cross-country skis, snowmobile or snowshoes and take off into the woods.. Our private cross -country ski trails run through the beautiful pine and aspen forest.
We are located on the snowmobile trails which connect you with the 2,500 miles of trails in the Upper Peninsula. Snowmobile from your cabin door. Snowmobiles can be rented at Ace Hardware, located in the Country Village in Ishpeming. Phone: 906-485-1870. Cross country skis and snowshoes can be rented at Wilderness Sports in Ishpeming. Phone: 906-485-4565. Ice fishing right in front of the cabin door or set up a guided trip with Uncle Ducky Outfitters. Although we are only 35 miles from Marquette, we are totally secluded, wildlife abounds. The private bridge at our entrance is called a "woods bridge" but it is strongly braced with cement cribs and 24 inch wide steel I-beams across a 60 foot span. Please drive slowly.
